He's not exotic at all, not in Iran anyway. He looks Tajik and that's probably because he's half Turkmen and Persian. Turkmens themselves have Iranian ancestry as well. I've seen more exotic people than him

My mothers family comes from Azeri+turkmen lines.

I meant he looked exotic in the squad. Others are most consistent looking.

I do agree with East med spectrum but Pontid is not common in Iran I would say. In general I find Iranians and specially Persians to be very exclusive and isolated looking people. They do not resemble any of their neighboring ethnicity.

Persians in general among other Iranic groups like Kurds, Pashtuns, Lurs etc look distinct to my eyes.
Pashtuns show a gradient IMO. Pakistani pashtuns that get posted are more diverse than afghan ones.

Not exactly Pontids but Iranid phenotype is an east Med phenotype category.

Most Iranians are Dolichocephalic btw And hypsicranic(High vault) Witch is also assosinated with east Med phenotypes.

Iranids have rectangular faces like Atlanto meds and can look robust. 99% of the team members are Iranids or influenced Iranids. they're a good example of what Iranids actually look like. A lot of people don't really know what Iranid is and mistake it for other Oriental types. Their faces are very common in Iran. It's not really med, just Iranid

Most of them can pass in Iran and overlap with Persians. I equate Persians with gracile/east med than central asian. Highly progressive and delicate compared to Kurds for example. The pashtuns in your video would be mistaken for afghans or rural eastern Iranians in Tehran. It could be the beard or cultural clothing, I don't really know. People don't dress up like that in Iran anymore except for the Balochis
