Typical stereotypical White American look likely consisting of mostly British ancestry but with a little German influence too (strangely though I think they pass much better in Germany than in England as a group). Most common phenotypes: Tronder, Anglo-Saxon, with smaller Alpine and Atlantid elements. Not very strongly Brunn but with a couple exceptions.

I don't see where people see "German" ancestry in these Americans. What they are is English mixed with some Scandinavian. Since Anglo-Saxon is Scandinavian, there is no way to discern between the two,: it may explain why Mormons from Utah are blonder than relatively pure English Americans from South Carolina.

Still, I saw a documentary about Mormons from South-Eastern England and they looked absolutely identical to their brothers from Utah. So it might be that lightness is just expression of more Anglo-Saxon ancestry than usual
