Luke Arthur Wells, a very strong contestant in the second season of The Great Interior Design Challenge, he made it to the semi-finals and turned it to a career.
When I first saw him, and through the show, I thought he was Iberian or an American of Latin descent.

But I can't find anything about his race or background other than this:

I’m originally from a town just outside of London called Hemel Hempstead, but I moved up North for university and have ended up settling in the Manchester’s city centre.

Is his mother foreign? That's something that people usually like to share with their bio, though, if they're asked about their background. Isn't it?

How common is this look?

He is likely 1/4 AfroCaribbean, I see SSA in him. Doesn't look Iberian.

I think he looks Puerto Rican, Tbh. There is no way he's 25% AfroCaribean! He's less than that, more like 1/8 to 1/16.

Edit: his hair isn't curly and his skin tone isn't sallow enough for him to have that much black in him.

Edit again:
This is what a British Quadroon looks like:

Notice the nose and bulbous forehead. Luke Wells has a a fine, small nose that's got a sharp point and a smooth forehead. He's got less than 10% SSA, if that.

Average Puerto Rican is in the 20-25% African range and that's what he looks to me.

My guess is one of his grandparents is from the Caribbean.

Atlanto-Med + some SSA.

Yes, but the average Puerto Rican looks blacker than he does. I grew up with Puerto Ricans, he looks it but he doesn't look like he's got that much black on him. He looks like a whiter Puerto Rican.

Edit: one of his grandparents was likely a mulatto or a quadroon. There have been Caribbeans in the London area since the 50's. IMO, he's got less than 10% ssa based on my own personal experience growing up with mixed people.

He looks like some people here who are half Cape Verdean and half white, which would be people in the 15-25% SSA range on average.

i don’t see it. he doesn’t have the usual tells for me, like nose shape, skin tone , forehead, eye spacing, etc. that is why i didn’t guess any ssa.

what do you see?

Admixtures aside, he looks more British than Iberian, in my opinion.

there is something very british about the top half of his face, the nose and eye area. what makes him wonky is the bottom and the pigmentation. also his head is a little on the small side, imo.

He’s mixed with SSA and Amerindian. His look is very common in Brazil.

I know! i should have put “latin american” on the thread title. -_-‘ i thought for sure he looked hispanic. i kept on waiting for him to say “and my latino family across the pond...”

how much mix? i’m thinking less than 10% for both

10 to 15% seems about right
