Celtic and Germanic are ethnolinguistic terms, not genetic terms. So no, they shouldn't be dropped. Also, not all Celtic and Germanic people were NW European (especially in ancient times).

No, because Celts encompassed parts of Southern Europe as well, most notably Iberia and N. Italy. Some of that cultural influence is still present today.

No because it makes most northern european countries seem more racially "pure" than they actually are. For example, english are a mix of celtic, normans, anglo saxons, some viking, a bit roman etc.
