Discovered in 1985 during building works, Stafford Road Man is among the first wave of Saxons to enter Britain after the collapse of the Roman Empire. Buried with a spear and a knife around 500 A.D., he lived an unusually long and active life and died after the age of 45. Apart from arthritis in his spine, shoulders, and hips, skeletal analysis shows Stafford Road Man suffered from an enormous dental abscess, which would have caused terrible pain and likely killed him after the infection spread to his brain.

Why did they give him a biker stache, mullet and ear ring.

Anyway, that's probably how the original Saxons looked and not like Coon's interpretation of "Anglo-Saxon"

here's another reconstruction

He could be British-born if he was 45 in 500 AD.

Anglo-Saxons started arriving ca. 425-450 AD.

About 500 AD the battle of Badon took place, which halted Anglo-Saxon advance for the next 50 years.

Nope, he had a typical Anglo-Saxon burial.

Why did they give him a biker stache, mullet and ear ring.

This is the reason according to the artist.

Caroline covered the Saxon man’s modelled muscles and fat with layers of clay skin. Finally she added his hair and moustache, the style of which were chosen according to portraits of men on Anglo-Saxon coins.

I said he could be born in Britain, not that he had Celtic ancestry.

He did not have to be a first-generation immigrant.

Your source says:

"Stafford Road Man is among the first wave of Saxons to enter Britain after the collapse of the Roman Empire."

^^^
Only if we assume that he arrived as a small child around 450-460 AD.

lol... I wonder how accurate these exotic reconstructions are that artists recreate. His neck and face is massive. He's got an extremely broad, short, and flat fronted head. It looks very weird for western Europeans. That type of flat fronted and short skull shape is seen in east Asian people. That thick rug of a moustache and punk earring... ;)

It's got to be better than some of the other godawful Anglo-Saxon reconstructions, have you seen them? One of them is in this thread.

I'm reading this article and the pics are interesting, they have a lot of 'primitive' features. Prominent cheekbones and short, bulbous noses seem common. Also this chick looks like Maisie Williams:

Perhaps Pred. Borreby? I remember reading about the steep receding foreheads in ancient skulls.

He also looks a bit like a Dinaro-Alpine.

Look at the skull before criticizing this perfect work, they were actually lenient with modern Anglo boys by giving him such a pussified Western look.

I found a modern British lookalike for this ancient British Bell Beaker:
