View Full Version : What's your primary ethnicity?

Comte Arnau
05-23-2011, 12:54 AM
What is your primary ethnicity? Please, do vote, as this could work as a kind of Apricity census. :)

Note 1: You can only vote for one option this time. That's why I say primary ethnicity, so think twice about it in case of doubt. If it's other, specify. Or vote for the closest/prevailing one and specify your case too. ;)

Note 2: Euro-American is supposed to mean any English-speaking North American of European descent.

I'm mostly Russian, but I don't relate with the culture. So I chose Euro-American, cause I satisfy those requirements.

Altough my Italian and German heritage are closest then the portuguese, i have it from all the sides of my family. I would say im 45% portuguese, 25% italian 22% german and maybe 3% dutch

Given that you also have the Portuguese language and culture -correct me if I'm wrong- as your native ones, I'd say you chose properly. :thumb001:

What prevails? In what language do you think? What jokes you understand better? What folk do you feel more as your fellows? What nation winning a championship moves you the most?

I chose English before I noticed the Euro-American option, however I am mostly English in ancestry with some Scots-Irish and just a mere smear of German. :)

Even though I am 63% Basque and 37% Asturian (of Extremaduran extraction) I identify myself as Basque because I was born and raised in the Basque Country.

However, despite my ancestors originating from the green, mountainous coasts of Northern Hispania, the hot and arid dehesas of Extremadura are but a part of me, and that land must not be forgotten.

Well, i have French Norman, Austrian, German and Italy ancestry. I lived in French, Austria and Germany, and I speak the 4 languages, but i´m very educated in Norman, German and Austrian cultures, however, i think the German is the one i identity myself. It was the first language i learned, after the Portuguese. I really like the folks, costumes, cultures, artists and almost everything that comes from Germany

In an archaic sense; I don't tie my ethnicity into Angel-land.

I think this is really a question for colonials. In Europe it is usually straight forward - French, German, whatever (apart from a few places like Britain where nothing is so simple  ).
