Probably K13 for most people. K15 is good for Northwestern Europe though.

k13 is most accurate calc for me, i get same +2 on all 3 raw datas which is my actual ancestry.

K15's oracle was much more accurate for me.

K13 definitely for me, oracle/oracles are much closer to my known ancestry.

They are both excellent, however both calcs surely have some strengths and weaknesses, depending on your ancestry/specific mix. So I say do both. And do G25 too. :thumb001:

South Dutch is excellent as a proxy for my maternal ancestry so let's see:

K13 - Admix Studio - 50% South_Dutch + 50% Hungarian @ 1.740

K15 - Admix Studio - 50% Hungarian + 50% South_Dutch @ 3.680

K15, even though K13 components are more predictable and easier to read on their own.

K15 adds more of an Eastern-Western dimension, whereas K13 is more straight North-South.

Ahhh, okay, that justifies why it seems to me that K15 splits my ancestry better (using various vahaduo models, and also my mother as a source). Basically I am modeled about 5% more Hungarian on K15. I did not know if this was an indicator of better accuracy, as my father was never tested.

I think the PCA you made for K15 holds up quite well, relative to the one you made for K13. Looks pretty consistent, I don't see any wild plotting or anything real unusual.

At first I would say K15, but now I think K13 has more natural components.

For all Europeans (including Northern Euros)?

^this

Hiya old bean K15 is splendid for me and k13 is very bad for me.

I would change what you said is : "K13 for most continental Europeans and K15 is best for NorthWestern Europeans." K13 has me as Irish and K15 as English and that is like night and day difference to me Davidski used K15 , on his blog, back in 2014, to analyze ancient Anglo-Saxon Hinxton samples so I would assume K15 is best for me.

K15 normally, but the updated Oracles on YourDNAPortal give me more accurate K13 results I think.

Hiya, mate, sorry, ok, maybe on second thought you are right and K15 is better in all instances. I don't know, all I know is K15 works for me and K3 does not.

SO the question comes down to, am I, in real life, more like Ashkenazi + Danish + Estonian + Southwest_Finnish @ 1.930241 (K13) or Greek + Lithuanian + Swedish + Swedish @ 3.656705 (K15)?

...or my father, 50% North_Swedish +50% West_Sicilian @ 9.083906 (K13) or 50% La_Brana-1 +50% Spanish_Andalucia @ 13.926881 (K15)?

and my mother, 50% Hungarian +50% Orcadian @ 1.427431 (K13) or 50% Hungarian +50% North_Dutch @ 4.556707 (K15)...

Is "neither" an option?

K13 as any increase in populations without an actual chipset will always be less accurate, that's just how all these calculators work; they are are more less excel calculations.

I dunno, all I know is I can only truly trust academic samples and I think Davidski's G25 moderns fiasco highlights this. I can't even trust commercial AncestryDNA or 23andme.

So, I placed my trust in this :

http://genetics.cs.ucla.edu/spa/index.html

^ I use that as a benchmark . It places me in Southern England to an accuracy of 500 KMS.

What else does that ? Well K15 places me in SouthWest England and this places me in South England to an accuracy of 400 KMS :

^These are the best tools available for me scientifically that work for me is all I know.

EUtest is better than K15 for full Europeans. At least in many cases it is.

I agree, at least Eutest worked fine for my parents, who have a better differenciate ancestry than me.

K13 and K15 are both good also.
