I found out through 23andMe that that's my paternal haplogroup, however I can't find too much information about it. The little I've found points towards either to a Germanic or Balkanic origin, however I'm Chilean and both of my surnames are of Spanish origin, nevertheless I'm pale white and blond, which isn't too common here, specially for my surnames. That being said, do you lads have any data on this haplogroup?

Hello, haplogroup I is very old in Europe. People who carried I mixed with Proto-Indoeuropeans and participated to the ethnogenesis of many European people as Slavs and some Germanic tribes. Your subclade according to Eupedia is undetermined but it peaks in northwestern and central Europe. If we see the distribution we can assume that it belonged to germanic tribes and Visigoths( a germanic tribe that was in Balkan before) brought it in Spain. But this is more a hypothesis, you may have an ancestor who once moved to Spain.
