Agrigento is in the south of Sicily, and they are most of the source for the Maltese population.

Agrigento held onto Sicilian Arabic/Maltese most tenaciously and was one of the last regions of the island to become Latin speaking.

there are also some Berber-like phenotypes, the men in the middle of these photos look like North Africans kind of (not sure if they pass in Levant, you'd have to tell me):

It's two different men. Do you mean the one in the middle of the first photo or second?

Second one might pass better as Levantine or an intermediate place like Egypt, but the first looks distinctly North African.

The middle guy looks more Levantine while the middle guy in the 2nd picture looks very North African/Gazan.

How about this man? Is he typically SE European, or is there something else? I feel like he could be from a wide range of SE European countries as well as possibly West Asian but you might see him differently.

He's dipigmented Levantine. I know a Lebanese guy who looks a lot like him. He can pass in most west asian countries.

These people look Sicilian foremost. Some could pass in Cyprus, (less so) Aegean Islander, possibly Maltese. Absolutely no to Greek mainland (Peloponnese or otherwise).

They fit as Italian first, then Greek. Atypical as anything else...

Compared to people of Palermo I saw in person: they have less Middle Eastern influence as well as less Italic influence. Most people look somewhat like Greeks, but a bit more brunet...

Are you saying Palermitans have a stronger Middle Eastern look than other parts of Sicily, in your experience? Palermitans kind of look like Ashkenazim to me, like a mixture of continental Italic peoples and Levantines. Greek input is probably less significant there than elsewhere in Sicily.

I think four specific provinces of South Italy have a moderately higher number of Near Eastern phenotypes: Palermo and Caltanissetta provinces on Sicily, and then Reggio Calabria and Vibo Valentia in Calabria. Other than these, it's definitely more subdued.

Though I would have expected Agrigento on the higher end as genetically they're closer to the Maltese.

Agreed , indivually they would pass many places . Extremely diverse group , I see some Central European faces, some Western European ones , Iberian and Balkan like ones along with some passing in Western Asia

Strange as it may sound, imo the men look more like mainland Greeks, while the woman look more like islanders and Cypriots.

I've told you before Sicilian men look more European than the women. In my experience 8 times out of 10 someone with an outlying phenotype is female.

But you see these look more 'European' (whatever that means) than the Palermo set by far. Somehow I always find the photos from Palermo to look more Near Eastern than any other part of the island. I'm not the only one to notice this in person either.

This set is clearly whiter than the other you posted, most here look european and they pass more in Italy and Greece than anywhere else. Some people here can even pass as French. Of course levant phenotypes do exist here, but way less than in the pictures of the other thread where majority of them looked non euro.

I notice the same. Not sure why. I consistently find the people in Palermo to be the most outlying Sicilians by phenotype.

Here's what I just learned: 99% of Swedish nightclubs (https://www.theapricity.com/forum/showthread.php?267463-State-phenotypes-of-these-Swedish-nightclubbers) comprise East Slavic, West Slavic, and Finnish women while in Sicilian nightclubs you can find people from all over Europe and West Asia there, including Balkan and East Slavic or Greek boys, Sicilian and Levantine women and men, Central European women, Western European men, West Asian women, and various ethnically-ambiguous (Taurid) dudes.

Conclusion: Sicilian nightclub is the place to be tonight.
