Russian/Tatar FTDNA Results

A man I know just received his results from FTDNA. I helped him take the test since he is curious but knows nothing about genetics.
He told me his father was Russian from Krasnodar krai, possibly with some Cossack ancestry, so basically Southern Russian/Ukrainian (from what is now Ukraine). His mother is a Tatar from Bashkiria, i.e. Volga Tatar (Tatars in Bashkiria are the descendants of settlers from the Middle Volga unless they're mixed with Bashkirs).

The Asia Minor is not exactly ME. It might as well be Caucasian and even SE European/Balkan. I think he might have gotten that from both parents.
By the way, the man is very light-skinned, has gray eyes and light brown hair. To me looks more Russian than Tatar.
