Considering they cluster close to each other, have mainly same history and both have at certain level simillar culture, instead of embracing their brotherhood as a proto-balkanian tribes/nations, they seem to be stand-offish.

Because Greeks invaded Albania i 890 B.C and still haven't been judged for murder of 8003 Illyrian civilians killed by Greek Trabuchet

Mostly it's based on religious grounds, I think..I don't think they do hate each other in real life.

Well imo when they meet each other IRL somewhere outside of their countries they could strike-up a conversation, but there are tensions for sure. Imo the religion is not the case. I think religion is not the factor of their tensions.

All issues on Balkans are Religious, we generally don't recognize existence of Nations and blood ties mean nothing. Only Religion.
Indian-Paki Orthodox is Welcome in Greece but Muslim Greek isn't.

This is a general problem in Balkans. The tension between Greeks and Albanians increased during the 90s when many Albanian immigrants came to Greece. Nowadays most of them have been assimilated in Greek society. But yes we don't understand how close we are culturally. I went to an Albanian marriage recently and the traditional music and dances were almost the same as in a Greek wedding. The difference was that the lyrics were in a different language.

Albanians first pillaged Greek cities in antiquity, like when Teuta invaded phoenike iirc. The same with Greeks, created colonies in albania like apollonia and epidamnus. Albanian-Greek rivalry is the oldest one in the region i believe.
