10 reasons why I like Switzerland.

1. Switzerland is a direct democracy. The instruments of this system at the federal level, known as popular rights include the right to submit a federal initiative and a referendum, both of which may overturn parliamentary decisions. By calling a federal referendum, a group of citizens may challenge a law passed by parliament, if they gather 50,000 signatures against the law within 100 days. If so, a national vote is scheduled where voters decide by a simple majority whether to accept or reject the law. Approximately four times a year, voting occurs over various issues. The Swiss have been called on to vote around 306 times since 1848.

2. They have a very high standard of living. Its per capita income, 80000 dollars, is the highest in the world, only surpassed by 3 tiny countries: Monaco, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg (United Nations (2017))

3. It has the second highest life expectancy in the world, 84 years, only surpassed by Japan, (List by the OECD (2016))

4. Switzerland in one of the safest countries in the world.

5. It has an ideal climate imo: snowy winters and warm summers.

6. The quality of its industrial products (food and technology) is magnificent.

7. Variety of languages and cultures, German, French and Italian. Each ethnicity is very respectful with the others.

8. People are usually polite, respectful and cultured.

9. Its cities and towns are very clean and its historical monuments are very well preserved.

10. Impressive landscapes. Mountains, glaciers, lakes.
