The individual is most likely an ethnic Swahili from either Coastal East Africa (Kenya or Tanzania) by looking at her name.

Very unique result. The individual seem like a mix between a Bantu/Niger-Congo and a MENA with some South Asian. I wonder can she be considered as an Old World "triracial" (of mostly African descent) by the 6-10% South Asian/Indian she is scoring in these calculators.

Nice results. It shows that the Arabs and the Swahili peoples had contacts from the early middle ages where they intermarried and so on.

I don't know much about blacks but this one doesn't seem to be a regular black African. East Africans are mixed, not pure Negroes.

I don't know much about blacks but this one doesn't seem to be a regular black African. East Africans are mixed, not pure Negroes.

That is because this individual is a triracial mix between Bantu, Arab and some South Asian. A lot of ethnic Swahilis in Coastal East Africa are mixed with Arabs, Indians, Persians even Chinese from Indian Ocean trading with these groups.

It depends on what East African population actually. Horners, a lot of Omotics and many Kenyan and Tanzanian tribes are genetically mixed while others like Nilotics like South Sudanese/Dinka are pretty much 100% Negroid of ancient East African variety. Also some tribes like Luos and Luhyas in East Africa are also almost close to 100% Negroid genetically as well.

So it depends on what particular East African population we are discussing. Some

Interesting, so Indian ancestry should be around 20% considering components of Indians other than South Asian.

I agree. I have a professor who was one of the instructors of my university when we do a study abroad program in Tanzania. At first I thought he was an SSA admixed Arab or North African like Egyptian, Yemeni. But he turns out to be an ethnic Swahili from Kenya. He also look pretty Sudanese. Although he told me he has been mistaken as Caribbean Hispanic or Brazilian when he first came to the US.

Its interesting how distinct many Swahilis can look. Despite many being a "mulatto" mix of SSA and Arab or "triracial" mix of SSA/Arab/Indian/Persian, they still look very different from the New World Mulattos or Triracials like Dominicans, Brazilians, Puerto Ricans, Venezuelans, Hondurans. I think they look very unique even for Latin America and would not pass there.

Am not really sure but most results of Swahilis that I saw have minor South Asian admix.

But from my university study abroad program in Tanzania, I notice many Swahilis also look pure SSA when I visit Zanzibar and the Coastal Areas like Tanga, Bagamoyo, Pangani (altho those fully African looking individuals could also be other ethnic minorities like Digo/Mijikenda or Sambaa).
