That BBC link is simply wrong. This is the fake description below the BBC Video:
"Santa Claus's Turkish Roots" :picard2:
"Although widely thought to hail from the North Pole, Santa Claus is in fact originally from Turkey. The BBC's Mark Lowen visited the southern Turkish town of Demre to trace the roots of old Santa." :picard2:
I had to facepalm that because there was no Turks there in 342 AD. There were no Turks in the regions of present day Turkey way back then, neither was there a place called Turkey in 342 AD. Saint Nicholas of Myra (270-342) lived in the Eastern Roman Empire, in 342 AD.
Why don't those brilliant British get it right? The British Museum did the same thing, when they tried to classify Armenian artifacts, from the Armenian Highlands, as Turkish Artifacts. Turks had nothing to do with these places and things, prior to the 11th Century.

....
It's quite sad to be quite frank with you. Losing your lands is one thing but losing your history to a group of people that have nothing to do with it is another.

Don't be surprised, they know nothing about Turkey or its history, so they assume anything in Turkey must be Turkish.
