Mixing with the first anatomically modern human beings present in Europe have lost their levantinity approaching today's Sardinians genetically? South Italy was already considerably close to the east genetically during the Neolithic period?

Since Sikeliot is gone, no one else cares about the Lebanese and how much European they are... :D

I don’t think so. Sardinians, and basques, are the most western shifted of all Europeans. Not even close to easterners

Lebanese people are Arabs Muslim Christian Druz. Pre historic Levant especially in North Syria and the West Bank actually had a few ethnicities like Hittites and Philistines. In pre historic Lebanese samples group them close to Cypriots if you want to call that Europe.

Why the focus on them, there must be so many Catholic Lebanese in America and the UK and them claiming and saying all sorts and Catholic Europeans defending them. I have never seen anyone in Lebanon who is truly Lebanese come genetically or phenotypically anywhere close to Europe lol

It's the same as are Iranians still Aryan, were the Ancient Egyptians European, were the original Central Asians non Mongolian etc.

Lebanon is still like 40% non-Muslim and the average Lebanese Muslim is not exactly a Mulatto Gazan immigrant either.

So what? Both Lebanese Muslim and Christian populations are non European you know why? Because Lebanon is NOT in Europe. According to Ged match, the pre historic Lebanese samples in Muslims and Christians are close to Greek Cypriots. That just means even the most European of them have a Balkan/Near Eastern mix like Cypriots do.

Why the noise and why them? Why not talk about Armenians? Armenian Christians are probably a lot more European on average than Lebanese Christians Georgians also and they're mostly Orthodox lol.

Why are you addressing this question to me? I've never said they are European. Only a certain member was obsessed with the idea that Southern Italians are basically half Lebanese mongrels.

Well, if he's not around anymore I wouldn't even bother and as I say that's pre historic samples. Most post Bronze Age Levantines including Lebanese Syrians Palestinians and Jordanians are just Middle Easterners I should imagine and not even Levantine.

They're not. Lebanon is more shifted towards South Europe whereas Armenians are more shifted towards the Caucasus.

What's your point? Can't we discuss non-European populations as well?

Not really. Lebanon is shifted towards Cyprus in pre historic Bronze Age samples. In modern day samples they are shifted much more towards the Middle East.

Armenians, Turks, Georgians etc are apart of the Caucasus and their samples of GED are within the West Asian spectrum I assume this is also based on modern samples not pre historic. But them on average would come closer genetically than any post Bronze Age Levantines. That's not only historically accurate but plain common sense.

West Asians in the Bronze Age would be close to all South Eastern Europeans not just Italians.

No we can, but it's kind of redundant trying to compare pre historic samples to modern ones.
