I'm beginning to realise that taxonomy is a hoax. I don't want to dump on Coon's work but I think it should be disregarded by professional anthropologists.

What I find amusing, is the importance of skull metrics in physical anthropology.
According to my layman's eye, the crucial factors which together form a person's aesthetic "vibe" or "look" are subjective/coincidental/haphazard/chaotic (anything but metrical esque).

One line of perception:
TA 'ers (myself included) fascination with taxonomy is on account of our fascination with history - Put most simply: People like to imagine how Caesar looked?

this is just my opinion but it is kind of a loser hobby. I don't mean anthropology, just taxonomy

I wouldn't personally call taxonomy aficionados losers.. but, again personally, I have never read nor desired to read any substantial/serious taxonomical material in my life (excepting short wiki snippets and TA posts and the like)..
Before joining TA, I had never heard of Tronder or Faelid or Berid or Carpathid etc etc..
