Most Indians in Australia are South Indians whereas those in the British Isles and Canada are North Indian (Punjabi usually) but still seen as typical curry people. In USA, it's a mixed bunch but with more North Indians.

I would say 20-25% based on phenotypes you see among everyday Punjabis.
In Pakistan' case many diasporas have over representation of Lahoris(central Punjabis) and Karachi(Upper class Muhajirs) while lighter ethnicities are highly underrepresented(apart from UK), this imo balances out any lack of dalits aborad(even though you can find many christian dalit asylum seeker in Europe)

most of the south asian mixture came in maternally in their group. While paternally, the steppe lineage continued. Basically brahmin men married non brahmin women, mostly midcaste and sometimes low caste women, and their children were probably considered brahmin. Thats why i'm assuming the R1a stayed intact among many brahmin communities.
