For an evening on the town, the 1969 Dodge Charger R/T (engine: 440 Six Pack). One of the most beautiful American cars ever built. Image posted at image.automotive.com.

For maximum top end, the 1970 Plymouth Superbird (engine: 426 Hemi). The racing versions of the Superbird and its corporate twin, the 1969 Dodge Daytona Charger, were among the first American cars to reach 200 mph.

A friend of mine had a SAAB very similar to that. Funny thing about her car was the 2-stroke engine in it, that required the addition of 2-stroke motor oil to each tank of gas.

If I would have had a license and enough money for a car (really expensive here !) and if the taxes on fuel would be slashed considerably I would go for one of those lovely old American cars. I love big cars and I find European cars to be cramped and neither suitable for short- or long-haul travel so I would probably look for a convertible with enough space for family and luggage.

The only problem with such cars is the interior. I would prefer something modern with a car phone and all the modern amenities.

Volvo XC70 - probably the best Estate car presently on the market in terms of safety, reliability, and utility. It's a good utility vehicle as well as a family car, but it's nevertheless equipped with an excellent stereo. The cost of to run Volvos is always high, but the quality of the car you're getting is worth the service costs.

No need to thank me, I've always been a fan of German cars. In my opinion, anything that involves cars, the Germans dominate, such as tires (continental), the roads. I have a cousin who works for the Audi in Ingosltadt. I already visit the headquarters of Mercedes in Stuttgart, Audi, BMW and Volkswagen in Wolfsburg. My old car was a Passat cc and now I bought the Mercedes, which, together with BMW cars that are most admire. Both by its designers, handling, comfort, class, elegance. Cars that are almost never cause trouble and you can use for a lifetime.

After the German cars, I like the Italian Lamborghini and Ferrari, which belong to the Agnelli family and Bugatti.

Mercedes Coupes from eighties or nineties (today I have mixed opinions on them) , Ferraris till nineties too, old Lancias and Porsches are OK too....and in a modest scale, Renaults till nineties. As you all well notice, I profoundly dislike contemporary aestetical design of cars, though I have to say a friend of mine got a Honda S2000 and is a fine piece of metal. Other brands which are maintaing an aceptable design for some decades is Audi and Volvo. On the contrary BMW are presenting some hideous cars lately.

And not only at Norther latitudes and Mediterranean cars: I still remember when my white Renault 18 heired from my father started to stick to gasoline by a rotten deposit circa 1993. I used to drive Mercedes, 11 years actually, but now I have a small Peugeot with automatic transmission. Mostly I ride on MC and I don't need bigger car now. Speaking about hobby cars I have had some, Porsche and old Fiat Cabriolet. Years ago I tried to find American muscle car, but never found anything exciting, because of poor Finnish muscle car markets.

My fiat was like this one

Not really interested in cars, as a child I was though. When I was still in primary school (age 7-14) there was this monthly car magazine I was always reading and had posters of sport cars on my room's wall.

I'm planning to move to a large city where car isn't needed because the public transportation is good enough.

In the late 1960's, my father was in the military, and we were transferred to a new military base in the US. After the transfer, he bought a Peugeot 404 (we had previously been stationed in Europe). I like the way that Peugeot incorporated fins into the body styling; not every manufacturer has done a good job with these. I wouldn't say that it's my all-time favorite, but I still like the car. When my brother was going to high school, he drove the Peugeot, and people he knew called it a baby Mercedes. :)
