1- Italians, except in Santa Catarina state in which Germans or part German people are majority of the population
2- Spaniards by far
3- Depends on what you consider a ''pardo''. The border between pardos and whites is not well defined. There are self-declared pardos scoring more than 80% European and self-declares whites scoring less and even families in which almost everyone is between 70-90% European but with high phenotypical diversity.

4- None of them. But I like both countries and I'm sure they have things in common with Brazil.
5- Animes
6- None of them, evangelical Christians are the ones growing the most (unfortunately)
7- Brazilians generally don't know anything about other South American nations apart from Argentina.
8- See above.
9- They are generally anti-abortion.
10- Euro-Triracial.
11 - Depends on the definition of ''brancas'' and ''pardas'' as well.
12 - No.
13 - Depends on social class and ethnic background.
14- Most don't like him.
15- Brazil. Brazilians generally don't watch anything with Portuguese accent, it's unheard of in Brazil.

Spaniards had a bigger impact in Brazil than Polish people both in the colonial period and in the last two centuries, but the impression I always had (and we have a thread about this) is that the Spanish immigration in the last two centuries is not very mentioned in Brazil, it's overshadowed by the Italian and German ones.

Yep. Brazil received more post-independence Spanish immigration than all Hispanic American countries apart from Argentina and Cuba.
But the ''Spanish diaspora'' got dilluted quickly in Brazil, most married Brazilians of colonial background, Portuguese, Italians, Lebanese etc.

Spanish + Lebanese is even a common mix in São Paulo.

More Spanish immigrants in Brazil than in Mexico, Venezuela and Chile? Really? I also find it droll how in both Brazil and Argentina, Southern Euro descendants and Levantine descendants have intermarried to the point where they are often barely even distinguishable, whereas in Europe it is Southern Europeans who are often among the most vociferous opponents of Arab immigration (much less mixing with them).

Also, Arabs migrating to Southern Europe are mostly SSA admixed Maghrebis who are Muslim and look very non-white for the most part. It's natural Southern Euros will not want to mix with them.

-Do you think that in a future.... Brazil will change portugues for english?

Queen mother of stupid questions - Brazil is one of the most vehemently non-English speaking countries on Earth. Even in the big cities and among the wealthier classes it is very very far from universal.

But there are also lots of Syrians and Iraqis, who (at least in the former's case) aren't quite so dark and non-Caucasoid.

How common would you say that knowledge of English, Spanish or indeed any other foreign language is in Brazil? Because all the travel guides in this country say that only in expensive hotels and restaurants in Brazil can you be guaranteed that people will know English. (Not that it affected me when I went there, as I speak Portuguese anyway of course).

1- italians.
2- Spaniards
3- All of them with Amerindians, German, Japanese and Sirian/Lebanese are more conservative (I do not know what the percentage )
4- Rio Grande do Sul State has any cultural connection with Argentina and Uruguay, the rest will not.
5- One part is non-practicing Christian, atheists the number is low.
6- do not know
7- Would be for the north, border states
8- Would be for the north, border states
9- abortion is repulsive to most
10 - partner / economic still euro divided, miscegenation (white/amerindian) is the most accepted.
11- white are more beautiful, (white/amerindian) comes after, but consider individual notes.
12- We will always use Portuguese
13- neutral to Amerindian, questionable to SSA
14-nobody else talks about Temer

Damn, I have a looooooooot of questions... Could I start just now with a few and I do many others after? :D
Keep in mind that the last time I went there was in 1997 (in 2014 with my family went there too, but it was just less than one day in the brazilian side of the falls) so many quetions could be silly, but I am really interesting to know about these subjects.

Well... I'll start:

1- Would I be considered "caipira" or "camponês" or something like a "redneck" considering I am originally from a town with less than 30,000 inhabitants? (I feel proud to be it if I would be considered, so don t worry if you answer "yes" hehe :D)

2- Is it common to find third positionists (conservatives nor liberals and nor socialists) among brazilian people at these times?

3- Are there many people who still like brazilian classic musicians like Roberto Carlos, Caetano Veloso, María Bethânia, Gal Costa, Milton Nascimento, Jorge Benjor, Neguinho da Beija Flor, Beth Carvalho and also romantic singers musicians of the 80s like Simone Bittencourt or Joanna? (I love all of them)

4- Sertanejo universitário still be trend, or real sertanejo is comming back?

5- Romário or Ronaldo?

6- Are japanese - brazilians totally integrated culturally talking?

7- Is it Espírito Santo a quiet State?

8- Is the term "gringo" affectionate / kindly? (I recived that nick from some friends or my cariocas relatives, but I was an adolescent at that time. :p )

9- Are the best beaches located in the northeast? (Even I clarify that I went to a beautiful beach, Jericocoara, in Ceará, but also in SC, SP and RJ states are very nice as I've seen, and there are many States which I've never been)

Thank you in advance! :thumb001:

1 - Here in Santa Catarina, the german influence is bigger than the italian one (our largest city was created by a german company - Joinville -). In Paraná the italian win this matchup, and in Rio Grande do Sul it is a tie (italians in the northeast of the state, and germans in the northwest).Non cahtl
2 - Spaniards by far. The gaucho accent spoke here in south is very influenced by the spanish language. Add the heritage left by galician immigrants in the XX century in São Paulo too. Polish descendants are - mostly - just farmers here.
3 - Very low. Pardos are usually mixed with Portuguese and Africa backgrounds with a very little native imput.
4 - None. But, if you ask it to a gaucho, it will say that it feels more related to both (similiar culture and traditions).
5 - I do not like it.
6 - Non catholic religions. Evangelicals will take the country in the next decades.
7 - None
8 - None
9 - The biggest part of the population is against it.
10 - Euro trirracial by a long shot.
11 - Pardas with big butt.
12 - No. Never.
13 - It varies according to the people's class and status. It is more accepted among low class's people.
14 - We hate him. He was arrested yerterday, ironically.
15 - Brazil

As portuguese speakers, we will always understand spanish. On my school, I did have english and spanish classes. The recent generations - a good part - know how to speak english. The eldest ones only speak portuguese.

Our opinion about indians is very influenced by a national novel about India. People that marry by arranged marriages, people that belong tô some caste. Recently, some brazilians have read some stuff about India thanks tô the conflit between India and Pakistan. According to the comments that I saw in the youtube, a lot of brazilians are supporting India because brazilians do not like islam.

Wait, I will take some water to drink while I answer your questions ... here I go:

1 - We associate the word "caipira" to people which live in the countryside and have a very weird accent. People from Minas Gerais, Sao Paulo's countryside are considered caipira. I think the number of habitants do not matter, since you speak with the countryside's accent.

2- To be honest with you, almost none know what really they trust and defend. None of these comunists use to read Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Engels, Mao Tse Tung; the conservative ones even do not who is Edmund Burke. If someone is against abortion, it will vote for the right; if someone agree with it, then vote for the left. Almost none gives a fuck to economy. Brazilians vote for people (personality) instead of vote for ideias.

3 - Yes, a lot of people listen their songs

4 - I'm not a expert about this topic, so I will pass on here.

5 - Ronaldo.

6 - Yes. But, the elder ones still speak japanese. A lot of japanese-brazilians go to work in Japan, so they also know how to speak it.

7 - Yes, very interesting ask. Our national midia ignore totally it. I wonder why.

8 - Yes.

We have our own society. Social class > race. Our culture worships mulattas (women mixed half euro half african). Some people use to follow a motto here - "white women to marry, and mulatta to betray and make sex". Whites in low class do not give a fuck to race thing. Recently, some pardos and blacks are improving their quality of life, and entering in the middle class. I have seen a lot of couples here made by german descendants and pardxs. Basically, the biggest part of brazilians tend to not give so much importance to it.

1. Italians.
2. Neither. But having to choosing one, Spaniards.
3. Hard to know.
4. Argentina. Most people here when thinking about other South American countries, Argentina is the first that comes to mind. I believe that only gauchos speak about Uruguayans.
5. Animes.
6. Non-Catholics sadly. But many of the so-called Christians are non-practicing Christians, atheism is also growing (To a lesser extent), thank god!
7. Same as number 4.
8. Same as above.
9. Only the closed-minded ignorant do not support abortion. It's even comical, since they don't adopt, and even are in favor of death penalty for those who enters criminality by not having other options. (I'm not saying it's justifiable. I myself support death penalty in some cases) :picard2:

10. Euro-triracial. National average, if any, would be 65%~70% euro, 20%~25% African and the rest Amerindian.
11. Generally white, since this phenomenon is common in Latin America, where whites are seen as ideal beauty.
12. No. unfortunately.
13. Most don't have anything against. Only a few (usually white) care about it.

15. obviously PT-BR

There are not pure blacks here. The biggest part of these "black brazilians" already born with fine hair. Brazilians only play attencion to skin colour. A lot of these afro-brazilians do destroy their fine hair making it look more "african" on hairdresses. They láck of identity, because they are mixed; but as people see them as blacks (and we associate "blackness" with africa), they tend to identify themselves as blacks.

:thumb001:

2. Yes. Although not many.
3. Yes, we still have sane people.

5. Ronaldo. Didn't see much Romário
6. I believe so. But i'll leave the final answer to paulistas :thumb001:

8. Depends on the person using the term. Some use it as a pejorative form. Others just to show that the person ins't native.
9. I would be biased if I were to answer this question :mocking:

If you had to recommend a city to move and live in Brazil for an Argentine, what would that city be? A friend of mine lived and invested in coastal Santa Catarina and told me it was very nice. Taxes were much lower than here, especially payroll taxes.

My favourite is Sao Paulo but I'm afraid of high criminality (I've been told some horrible stories by Paulistas who moved to Uruguay).

Very poor. Well... Since they are the ones traveling here, they are the ones who should learn the local language, not the other way around. When we travel abroad, they don't know Portuguese either. :silly000:

It's not like everyday there is shooting, but you should avoid them. You don't wish to be in one when the shootings start.
The media here and also many gringos glamourize favelas, which is stupid, they shouldn't exist in an ideal Rio.
The majority of the city is surrounded by slums and it's horrible when shootings start, you can be hit even if you don't live there.

No. But, at some moment on future, thanks for the race mixing, something like a more homogeneous trirracial country will emerge. Something like a 62% euro 33% african and 5% native with some extreme cases for each group.

It depends on which one. But favelas are generally not safe. This is because of the corrupt and bloodthirsty government who believe that shootings in the favelas will solve the problems of drug trafficking.

Let see....
1-Germans vs italians....which ethnicity has more impact in southern Brazil?
2-Spaniards vs Polish... which ethnicity has more relevance in Brazil?
3-Which % in the general population can you give to pardos with a important non-portuguese yuropean contribution?(for example: a Pardo half italian, or a pardo 1/4 ukranian)

4-Do you feel more closely to Argentina or Uruguay?
5-Anime vs Comics.... which type of stories are more popular among the young population?
6-Atheism vs non-catholic christianism... which faith is growing among the general population?
7-Brasilians feel more closely to Venezuela or Colombia?
8-Brasilians feel more closely to Bolivia or Perú?
9-What's brasilians' opinion about abortion?
10-In NATIONAL average... Brazil is more a quadroon nation or a euro-triracial nation?
11-Pardas vs brancas....which are more beautiful in general terms according to brasilians' opinion?
12-Do you think that in a future.... Brazil will change portugues for english?
13-What's brasilians' opinion about race mixing dates and marriages?
14-What's brasilian opinion about Temer's goverment?
15-Who do the dubs for movies, anime, series and other type of programs.... Portugal or Brasil?

1) Italians by far. Germans are very influential in Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina, but Italians still win. Italians are the most influential in the state of São Paulo.

2) Spaniards by far. There are many Poles in São Paulo and Paraná, but the Spanish influence is still bigger. Perhaps the only place where Poles could be on pair with Spaniards is Paraná

3) I have no idea, but maybe Italians, simply because it is the largest non-Iberian European ethnicity in Brazil.

4) Both, equally. Uruguay was part of Brazil by the way.

5) Anime

6) Both are on the rise, but unfortunately evangelicals are increasing exponencially in Brazil. They are poorly-educated bunch and very low-class.

7) Neither I think, but maybe Venezuela?

8) Again, neither, specially about these two which are quite forgotten countries.

9) Against it.

10) I'd say tri-racial, being basically European > African > Amerindian.

11) White girls look better. Pardas and mixed people in general look very ugly because Pardos are a very unbalanced group.

12) Never. English is on the rise, but it will never replace Portuguese as a first-language.

13) The average Brazilian does not care about race mixing, but there are those who are more conservative on this subject.

14) Very bad, he was very unpopular while in power.

15) Brasil. Portuguese dubbers are unheard of here.

Queen mother of stupid questions - Brazil is one of the most vehemently non-English speaking countries on Earth. Even in the big cities and among the wealthier classes it is very very far from universal.

There's no such thing as an "stupid question".

Maybe not, but still Brazil has one of the lowest percentages of people who can speak English in the world (of the large countries, that is).

i know it is a stereotypical question but:
how dangerous is to go to favelas in rio?

in favelas that were pacified (no drug traffickers) could visit, but must be accompanied by a local resident. Alone is crazy

Germany>France>Spain>India>Jamaica>Turkey. :) (London is still 60% White btw - ironically it may have become slightly MORE White in recent years due to large scale immigration from both Southern and Eastern Europe).

Depends what you are going to do. The central west region, currently has more growth, North region has a demand for people with an academic background, but this region is limited in infrastructure.

For me, Brazilian city, the maximum limit is 1.5 millons of citizens, larger cities often have many problems.

Which is odd and ironic, as there are a lot more Black/Black-admixed people in Brazil than there are Amerindian/Amerindian-admixed people.

The majority of mix are Amerindian (they are in every city) a person Amerindian is more accepted (can be as brown as SSA) SSA is considered unreliable here.

Based on what? Last time I checked the statistics São Paulo capital was the safest capital talking about homicide rates. I've already been in both places btw, more times in São Paulo than in Florianópolis tho.

Actually both states are the safest places in Brazil statistically speaking. But compared to any provinces in Argentina, both are violent places. I hope the new government can change such sad reality.

Depends what you are going to do. The central west region, currently has more growth, North region has a demand for people with an academic background, but this region is limited in infrastructure.

For me, Brazilian city, the maximum limit is 1.5 millons of citizens, larger cities often have many problems.

Your friend was from the real estate business?

Nope, he (and his family) invested in the gastronomy sector.

Yes florianopolis is much safer than São Paulo. What attracts you to São Paulo? ballads/discotheque 24/7 lol

The dynamism, economic opportunities, the multiethnic society, etc. The economic opportunities are a big catcher to me, especially on the financial field, in which I’m intending to specialize. Lots of large companies are based in Sao Paulo.

Would you say there is a default ethnic group in Brazil, as is the case in most other countries? (Even the US).

No, here are at least 3 phenotypes:

White: most are Portuguese/Italian
Mix: white/amerindian (some with dark skin)
Mix: white/SSA

Tri-racial is only mix

-Why some brazilians consider Pedro II as a good ruler?

Because he was probably the best ruler Brazil ever had. In the 19th century Brazil was actually very prestigious in its post-independence phase only due to the presence of European nobles as the rulling elite (Pedro II was descendant of the Portuguese and the Austrian/Habsburg royal families, that's why our flag is green and yellow). Pedro II was a very capable ruler and an erudite: he could speak Hebrew, Arabic, Greek, Latin, Sanskrit, Persian, he was interested in sciences and bringing technical development to Brazil, wanted to modernize the country and expel the wounds created by slavery, tried to reform our land system (allowing European and internal migrants to have easier access to the free lands) and made Brazil the most respected and hegemonic Latin American country.

The Republican coup d'etat which put an end to monarchy in Brazil was led by land-owners/ rural oligarchs who were unsatisfied with the reforms Pedro II was doing in Brazil. They would like Brazil to become a perpetual agrarian state only exporting basic goods to Europe and the USA, a kind of neocolonial situation. The creation of the Republic equalized Brazil with all the other LA countries: a failed Republic governed by corrupt and incompetent land-owners, a kind of continuation of the colonial system.

Anyway, the Empire wouldn't last for long after his death, the de facto ruler would be his son in law, the Count D'Eu, a French nobleman and son of the last Orléans French king. The Count D'Eu, despite doing all efforts to be liked and dedicating a lot of his time to Brazil (he even fought in the war against Paraguay and was the Brazilian commander in chief), was hated by the press (controlled by agrarian land-owners) and it created a general antipathy towards him.

Ironically, the Count D'Eu was so fond of Brazil that he died on the coast of Bahia in 1922 when he was returning to Brazil after the royal family got expelled to commemorate the centenary of Brazilian independence.

I'm quite sure Brazil would be a totally different country if the Monarchy was never abolished. Instead it became just another Latin American banana Republic governed by corrupt and incompetent politicians.

I have a good impression of the Lebanese, they are a sucessful group and integrate themselves very well, many look no diferent from the average white here, blend in easily if you don't notice their surname.

In that case either many 'Lebanese' are now mixed with Europeans, or else Brazil has a much more expansive definition of 'whiteness' than anywhere in Europe, North America and Oceania does.

I don't agree, ''white'' definition in Brazil is being able to pass relatively well as a white-skinned person. It includes people with ''off'' features but sometimes exclude some full-blood Europeans.

I don't think things are so different in most of Europe tbh. I've visited Europe many times and the Anglo concept of ''whiteness'' seems to be very non-existent in most of Europe. In most European countries you're white if you can pass as ''white'' (i.e. any European ethnicity). It's similar to Brazil.

You should stop equating Europe with the UK.

Well either way, most Lebanese are easy to tell apart from Europeans (including far Southern Europeans). It was only Sikeliot who tried to make them whiter than Turks and on par with Sicilians and Greek islanders.

Homicides are gang wars happens in suburban neighborhoods and favelas. When I talk about São Paulo is burglar and robbery, I speak of people who live there they say it's very dangerous.

But for any reason I think that Ronaldo Nazario was the most different player that I ever seen, with a ton of talent combined by an electrifying speed and an impressive strenght.
And also the fact that he started in 3/4 of the field and when he took the ball the defenders almost never could stop him.

The problem is that robbery rates are hard to detect, since it is based on Incident Report (Famous B.O), how you said SP is full of policemen and it is something I actually liked about S.P., when I have been to Rio I have badly seen any police on the streets and when I was in SP they were like everywhere, so for logical conclusion it shouldn't be hard to any paulista go to a Police Station (they have a lot) and register an Incident Report, what obviously will increase their rates.

Here where I live in Paraná countryside, if I get robbed, I won't register any B.O, since my city just have one delegacy and it is way far from my home, also we barely have any policeman, but it doesn't mean this town is a safe place. Now imagine for those who are poor and have no condition to pay a municipal bus to go to the downtown. They simply won't go there.

But when we talk about homicides, it is way more accurate, since nobody need to go the Police Delegacy to register homicide, the Public Minister do it, how they say in Law, Ação Penal Pública Incondicionada.

How many blacks were imported to colonial Brazil?

Around 5 million (historians estimate something between 3 million and 7 million) if you count as ''colonial Brazil'' part of the post-independence period. Contrary to other Latin American states Brazil maintained slavery after its independence from Portugal. In most other Latin American nations slaves were freed after independence.

Actually most blacks and significantly black admixed people living in Brazil now descend from people who were imported during the first half of the 19th century when Brazil was already independent.

Most of the 3 million black slaves imported during the colonial period left no descendants in Brazil because they were overwhelmingly male and worked in very harsh conditions.

How many blacks were imported to colonial Brazil?

If I am not wrong, around 5 million of them. Just for comparison effect, USA received less than 10% of this number.

The african impact in our genetics is around ~23%, I think since around 90% of them were men, if they had descendants, then they would be mixed, but Brazilian YDNA comes mainly from West Europe, what means our african heritage is mainly from those 10% of african women who were brought to here.

Their life conditions was not that good in some regions, then was not uncommon for many of them die during the caravel transport, a lot couldn't even reach 30 years old, some laws like Sexagenarian Law was deeply criticized since slaves rarely could reach such age.

Yes. The first half of the 20th century is the only period in which you could reasonably argue Brazil was majority white. Demographics started to shift to a more average Triracial country in the 60s-70s.

Significantly black admixed populations decreased drastically during the early 20th century due to eugenic programs and harmful policies against them adopted purposely by the government.

It was never as aggressive as Anglo-Saxon and Boer policies towards blacks (like openly discriminatory laws, segregation etc) but the Brazilian government implemented some measures aiming to reduce or even eliminate the black population, like letting them without medical assistance and sanitary conditions (that's how proto-favelas were formed) and incentivating European migration to substitute blacks or at least diminish their numbers drastically.

But it was a short period, after 1930 these policies were abandoned.

Brazilian dictators of the military period (all right-wing white men) condemned vehemently Apartheid South Africa. Actually Brazil was the first country to recognize the independence of many African countries.

Brazilian Military Junta turned very anti-colonial/anti-american in their last years, in the government of Gen. In Brazil people usually think the opposite. It's more common to see people saying the Burger King has best products than Mc Donald's. At least on those places which both have a huge market, like São Paulo. In Rio people have some affinity with a brazilian chain called Bob's, btw.

There was always division inside Brazilian military, the group who dominated when the coup d'etat happened was right-wing anglophile and pro-US. But after Gen. Emilio Garrastazu Médici the government became increasingly nationalist.

Even now there is division inside Brazilian military, some supporting Bolsonaro's pro-American agenda and some opposing it.

Ronaldo or Pele?

Pelé. Young brazilians will answer Ronaldo because none of them saw Pelé playing. Brazilians and our national media use to refer to Pelé as "the king".

Ronaldo or Pele?

It is hard to answer honestly. I don't think the old football was so advanced like it is today, but at the same time we have to take into consideration the ball was heavier than it is now, the football boots were simple, so it requires more physical prepare. If you check the old footballers pictures, they always have thick thighs.

Talking about titles, Ronaldo won two world cups, one as titular. Pelé won other three world cups, one he didn't play since he was injured tho. In fact, Pelé never played in Europe, but he played against European clubs that time, when he played for Santos he won two Intercontinental Cups and other international friendly games.

Ronaldo played for Real Madrid, but never won a UEFA Champions League, what sounds weird when we talk about him. Ronaldo used to be top scorer player when it comes to World Cup (Klose overcame him in 2014).

Hmm, my conclusion is Pelé, even tho I am suspect since I don't like Ronaldo since he is one of biggest idols of the rival club of my team

It used to be F1. Brazil and Germany are the main champions when it comes to F1, some names come to mind like Fittipaldi, Piquet and Senna, but nowadays we don't have representants to the next F1 since Felipe Massa and Barrichello retired.

No. But, curiously, when our Nacional Football Championship ends (usually it ends on Dezember), a lot of people start to watch NFL and others american sports. NFl has been quite popular here. I'm a huge fan too.

NFL is a wimpish corruption of rugby. As a matter of fact, Argentina is the only serious rugby-playing nation in South America - so much so it has never lost to any other South American team, and many of its victories over Brazil have been like 100-0!

Yes, in fact. Unfortunely, when our ex dictador - Getúlio motherfuck Vargas - decided to side with the allies on WW2, Getúlio forced these teams to change their original names.

Many were founded together with other fans, Corinthians as example, they were spaniards, lebanese, brazilians and some italians. I think only Palmeiras and Cruzeiro were founded only by italians (both named that time as Palestra Itália) and the initial squads were only formed by italian footballers.

Even today the Italian influence in Palmeiras is huge, the currently president is Mauricio Galiotte and it is located in an historical Italian neighboorhood in São Paulo, the old place where used to belong to Matarazzo family. I've been there several times.

Being an American lapdog can be good. Chile was for years, and now is the best country in Latin American, economicaly speaking.

There is also the reverse of it, because the USA is always floating between Conservative Republican presidents and Liberal Social Democrat DNC presidents. For example, if Bolsonaro with the military/monetary aid of president Trump invades Venezuela but in the middle of it, Trump loses the 2020 election to a Democrat like Joe Biden or even worse Bernie Sanders, Brazil would be in trouble because the two governments would clash. (Even tho, getting trouble with the biggest Super power in the world is not advisable at all).

Here is a list of the biggest victories in international Test rugby history. Several of them are victories by Argentina against Brazil and other South American teams: http://stats.espnscrum.com/scrum/rugby/records/team/biggest_team_win.html?id=1;type=class

But seriously, do you think that rugby has the potential to take off and become successful in Brazil, to the point where they can at least challenge Argentina, if not necessarily the All Blacks?

As someone who played for the Brazilian Cricket NT...

...Cricket would be a major sport here because many kids play it without knowing. But there's no incentives at all.

Rugby started to get somewhat popular, but still smaller than Motorsports or MMA, by far. Also those "radical sports" like Surf, Skate or BMX are far more popular, too.

Most talents go directly to Football. Plus, American Football has a Semi-Pro league here and many players who could move into Rugby prefer to stay there.

Actually Brazil created a Rugby League Federation and already won a South American Tournament using some guys from Union and American Football. Since RL has a smaller scenario, Brazil can really improve faster than at RU.

I played Cricket for the NT, Flag Football, Field Hockey, won medals at High School level at Athletics and almost turned into a soccer professional.

However, I love Rugby (specially League) - I've like 6 Sydney Roosters jerseys or shirts, plus 2 caps etc.
