If your neighbor countries were others, other ethnicities, who would they be?

In polls you can vote "yes" or "no" to this "Would you like to see other ethnicities as your neighbors?" For example, Ukrainians have Hungarians, and instead of Hungarians there were Japanese.

We in Greece are not satisfied at all with our neighbors (attitude).
It would be much better to have countries like Denmark, Switzerland, Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic etc...

I would like to exchange quite literally all of my neighbours, they don't seem to like me very much. Replace them with Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand and we can all have really chill meditation sessions and talk about how awesome the Buddha was and drink green tea.

Fish fear me and I like it that way. I would keep them as neighbours over any humans.

I’d certainly replace Germany and Austria, preferably by Basques, but any other Iberian ethnicity would do just as well. As for the second one, I’d pick some East Slavic nation. Perhaps Russia or Ukraine, but again, any other East Slavic ethnicity would be fine. I don’t want any aliens near my realm!

In an ideal situation I would prefer my country not to have any neighbors and be located on the island in the distant ocean! :D

I live on an island. :)

Coastal islands do not solve the problem of neighbors! :) Only far away in the ocean!

I'd exchange Walloons for Afrikaners (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afrikaners). I like the Walloons but better have the Afrikaners here safe and well and the French would evacuate the Walloons to France anyway.

Our neighbors are the ocean and Spain. The ocean is getting polluted and Spain has been alright in the last century and a half or so.

Hungary and Moldova?

no. why Moldova? :) I would change it only in the context of unification :D then we wont be neighbors anymore but a single country. I'd change Ukraine instead.

True, the Channel Tunnel underneath the sea connects our island via high speed rail to the mainland of continental Europe.

Well, going in a clockwise direction... to the north-west of our island in the North Atlantic Ocean is the island of Iceland... they're cool people to have as neighbours.

Over the North Sea to the north-east of Great Britain, there's the Faroe Islands, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark... all cool neighbours.

Then to the south-east of our island there's the Netherlands and Belgium... very cool neighbours

To the south of our island across the English Channel is Northern France (Normandy and Brittany)... cool neighbours. The Normans 'North man' settled in England, and the south-western British Isle people from Cornwall and Devon historically settled in the Celtic region of Brittany which means 'Little Britain'. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bretons https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brittany

The Channel Islands (and tax havens for millionaires) of Jersey and Guernsey are beautiful and cool places. Jersey cows milk is a speciality in the UK.

To the south-west across the Bay of Biscay is the unique Basque Country and the Celtic region of Galicia.... they're cool people.

To the West across the Celtic Sea and the Irish Sea is Ireland... cool and friendly neighbours, (except for the murderous terrorists in the Real IRA and Provisional IRA (PIRA.))

The Celtic Isle of Man to our west is also a lovely place. They have the world's oldest parliamentary system and Viking customs there based on Viking laws. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tynwald

The Shetland Isles off the north-east coast of Scotland holds the world's largest annual Viking festival each year (Up Helly Aa fire festival,) to celebrate their Viking cultural heritage:https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=up+helly+aa

Brownsea Island to the south of England has 200 rare red squirrels, and the Isle of Wight to the south of England has cool rock festivals each year.

Great Britain (England, Scotland, and Wales) has a total of 6,289 islands, mostly in Scotland. http://www.sovereignty.org.uk/features/articles/uk6.html

i would move the Philippines further out into the Pacific so we could have retained our Austronesian identity instead of being so influenced by Mainland Asia
