Group 2 is average mixed Brazilian, group 1 is White Brazilian and group 3 is made of more balanced mixed-mutts (but even them would be predominantly Euro genetically).

I think you excluded a hypothetical 'group 4', made of predominantly African looking Brazilians. They are numerous enough to be representative (think in Ramires, Vinicius Junior, Pelé etc).

I'd fit better in group 1 but I don't think my look is average white Brazilian tbh, I look more ''recent immigration''. There's a slightly difference between ''regular whites'' (people with part colonial origins) and ''colonos'' (recent whites). I fit better as a ''colono/recent white''.

I'd stick out in all of them, i have a very broad face and far set eyes that are quite rare among Southern Europeans. Closest to group 1 anyway.

I chose the main 3 groups of Brazil.
Group 1. whites around 30% of Brazil.
Group 2. Caucasian pardos 40% of brazil
Group 3. Mulattos 20% of Brazil.

Remaining 10% = others. (mainly natives. Blacks and Asians)

Yes.

I think he excluded a considerable portion of Brazilians who look blacker than these examples. Neymar, for example, is among the whiter spectrum of ''blacks'' in Brazil (even if these definitions can vary).

I think the main 4 groups in Brazil genetically are as follow (based on the degree of European admixture):

1- Predominantly European people (70-100% European) - ~50% of the population
2 - Balanced Pardos (50-70% European) - 30% of the population
3 - Blacks (35-55% European) - 15% of the population
4- Others - 5% of the population

As you can see there's overlap between these groups and my criteria is arbitrary, but I think it's a good criteria since its based on genetics rather than in just subjective physical observations.

It's hard to separate this way though.

For example, is Roberto Rivelino a ''colono''? He is 100% European and of recent stock, but he is from a big city and looks much darker than what is common among colonos. He passes much better among Colonial Portuguese-Brazilians than among Tyrolean colonos. It's just a random example.

In my home city, colono is only used to refer to people of North Italian and/or German background. My mother called everything else 'pelo-duro'.

Well, where my paternal family comes from (ES countryside) is similar. ''Colonos'' are the ones who descend from ''Trentino'' people (Italians and Germans from Tyrol), Pomeranians and Northern Italians. But there are even Romanians and Slovaks there and some people mixed with white colonials.

Difficult to differentiate; is someone of purely Piedmontese descent born in São Paulo city a ''colono''?

Ederson is light skinned, but he is probably on Neymar range, his father is a terceroon and his mother is trirracial, both from Northeast (his father is from Bahia)

Felipe in many pictures look like any regular south european. He is probably on 85~90% euro range

No. I'm from a city in São Paulo countryside which I have no roots (I was born there by accident), but Piedmontese are not common in the regions my parents come from.

Most Italians in the area of my paternal ancestry (countryside of ES) are Venetians/Friulans (actually they are very close culturally to Germans and Tyroleans also present in the area) and in the area of my maternal ancestry (''Oeste Paulista'') South-Central Italians, Venetians and Tuscans. There are some people from Emilia-Romagna as well.

I used Piedmontese just as an example, since the Italian ancestry in São Paulo city is more varied. You can find people of any Italian region there.

Btw, genetics and phenotype correlation isn't always that linear. There is an ex-member (Raizen) who is also my real life friend and i thought he would score much less European than he did based on his appearence. I paid a DNA test for him expecting something like 70% European as he looks like an pardo, and he scored ~85% Euro.

The first picture does have a Central Asian vibe, but it is more the angle of the cam than anything. You look predominantly European with some African and Amerindian in my opinion.

Btw, genetics and phenotype correlation isn't always that linear. There is an ex-member (Raizen) who is also my real life friend and i thought he would score much less European than he did. I paid a DNA test for him expecting something like 70% European as he looks like an pardo, and he scored ~85% Euro.

In fact many other friends at real life even went to a point saying that I look like a Mongol or Half-Japanese (even by some japanese people in São Paulo I was labeled as "mestiço" sometimes). At same time, people here in Chile are far different from me. I would say the second picture is more off shot than the first.

I think I remember him, he was that user who used to claim to be quatrocentão paulista or he is that guy who is part colonial dutch (of northeasterner origins)?

I remember this guy, he got ''pardo'' classifications here iirc. But genetically he is inside the ''white brazilian cluster''.

One of my uncles married a ''white looking'' woman from Bahia who is actually daughter of a pardo, my cousin (their son) looks darker-skinned than Raizen (but he has more Euro features, he kinda resemble Rui Patrício) and he scored 92% European in 23andme. The mother looks whiter than the son, even if we know she is much less European given the fact my uncle is 100% (and looks so, of course, people here classified him as Norid).

I concluded there's no 100% accurate way to estimate these things.

He looks like a common Brazilian to me, the central asian shows only in the hair distribution( beard and eyebrows)

You don't even need to go so far, I already created topics about my family here and both my sister, father and mother are Alpine (my father even received an Alpine+Borreby). And I'm totally different from them, 0% Alpine.

Claudio Taffarel looks very European. Would be him like 95-100% European? He looks like Woody Harlesson.

Yeah, the only indubitable way to find how 'biologically' European a Brazilian is is by DNA testing, with pictures we can only guess. There are lots of exotic looking Europeans, and in a country as mixed as Brazil, it becomes very hard to differentiate what can be a 'exotic European phenotype/trait' from a possible African or Amerindian influence.

Likely 100%.

He is a ''colono'', it means countryside white of Northern Italian/German ancestry in most cases.

Well, some people think Pardo Brazilians should look like North Africans in terms of same Caucasian/SSA mix but even having the same amount sometimes, the look is totally different. In fact there's no logical point about why people look totally different even having the same DNA - like me and my sister. Imagine using a huge cluster of people.

Probably 100% European, yes, he is of German and Italian ancestry. I remember when i firstly joined TA i made a thread about him and he got classified noric+alpine by Odin.
