"YSTR Matching of a YSEQ sample to FTDNA Projects is now possible with the str-match-finder tool from Hunter Provyn:
https://phylogeographer.com/str-match-finder/?fbclid=IwAR3sxdg8_vtrz3tVDHm26Tz7HmDzK8AMVC_DIuyl Hap5G99j64J86QhlSnY
Simply go to your YSEQ YSTR results page and click on the new link:
https://www.yseq.net/strs.php
Your STR results will be pre-populated in the form.
Now you just need to open a FTDNA project page and right click on the mouse to save the html source code.
Copy and paste that cryptic html code in Hunter's form and select the cut-off genetic distance (GD). If you don't see matches, increase the GD cut-off."

He is also working out something for the reverse, so that FTDNA project members can find STR matches on YSEQ. Can't wait, since most of my close matches are all on YSEQ. Seeing some distant matches that didn't test on FTDNA would be nice too.

Will be interesting when us FTDNA lot can check YSEQ for matches. I have no close matches due to a rare str value.

It doesn't work for me, it just says "query" where the matches should show up...

I should mention it: all credits go out to Hunter Provyn, he is the one who is behind this new project.

You may be surprised. In the matter of a year I got 4 close YDNA matches that showed a founder effect(coupled with full genomes). Whereas on FTDNA and even Yfull, all my matches are distantly related (2000-2100ypb) to the basal clade.

Why does it ask me if I want to compare on 37, 67 or more markers when at the end it only compares on 16 markers: DYS393 DYS390 DYS385 DYS439 DYS458 DYS459 DYS447 DYS449 DYS464 DYS460 Y-GATA-H4 DYS456 DYS576 DYS570 CDY DYS442?
