That's for those who did autosomal only right

It is info from some FTDNA conference, unofficial.

Yes it is for those made only autosomal (they will have ydna and mtdna info), or only autosomal and Y-DNA like me (they will get mtdna in such case).

Of course I presume it will be some basic info (maybe like cheapest ydna package now). Nothing like Big-Y:)

Simply they will do the same as all mayor players (23&me, LivingDNA, Ancestry).

It will most likely be Y-12. I ordered it for my dad - he simply came out as R-M198.

Ancestry don't do Y-DNA nor mtdna either.

So those of us who have spent 00's with FTDNA's big-y's get no freebies?

They already know that information. You don't need to learn your basic HGs. I don't know my mtDNA and also I manage my brother-in-law's kit (only autosomal).

I have the same result and I did Y-36. Was disappointed it never changed into more detail. But it shows some subtype haplogroups. Can you tell your own subclade from that? Or you need to buy "selected snp"?

No further info. Unlike me at least you know that you're Z280 if you're R1a.

Dont get it. It still says R-M198 (presumed/predicted) which is quite basic. Shouldnt it say go into more detail (aka subclade M417 or Z280 or whatever)?

It just gives matches (whole range from M198 to M458 to R-YP<numbers>) from various countries and genetic distance. How does that help me without tested positive.

This is great news but they'll probably raise the price.

If you’re polish you’re most likely M458 and more specifically L260 or L1029. Also a 50/50 you can be Z280 which can fall into Z92 or CTS1211. The best bet is seeing the clade of your closest matches for an idea. You still need to test further to be sure. Join the R1a project on the site you tested. Admins may predict placement but they will still recommend testing further.

It took big Y for me to find my founder effect and test my matches to define our own branch in R-L1029. Otherwise I would remain basal prediction.
