Yeah, I look at a lot of Lebanese and Palestinians results and they are similiar but with Palestinians being more NA/Arabian.
My sister took 23andme results earlier and she had 87% West Asian(all from Lebanon/Syria) and 13% North African/Arabia but that was not specified. I thought that the NA came from Jordan but my Mother's family grew up in Egypt so that were some came from.
Yeah, I look at a lot of Lebanese and Palestinians results and they are similiar but with Palestinians being more NA/Arabian.

No, we are all Maronite and Melkite. What my mother told me was that Alexanderia, where she grew up, was a multi ethnic society of Syrians, Armens, Greeks, etc.. but was all kicked out by the time Nasser took to power.
My mother's sister married a Muslim from Egypt. Her son was actually 15 years older than I was and came to America to visit. He stayed in my room and sometimes I would see him pray around 4 or 5 in the morning while I would be waking up.
I really think they should be working on a Levantine population already instead of assigning Levantines with large chunks of Caucasian.

Yeah, my closet genetic relatives score Italian and Greek, but thier matches haven't been updated yet.
I think Turkey/Caucasus score is pretty typical though I did see some score 54% Turkey/Caucasus. Not sure where they were from.
I should be able to download my raw data when I come home and hopefully I can get my GED results soon.

Yeah Turkey/Caucasus is very typical for Levantines to score with Ancestry, which is why I think they should create a separate category for the Levant instead of have them split between Middle Eastern and Caucasian as if it's a GEDmatch oracle and not an ancestry test.

If it were still free I would have told you to upload your raw data to MyHeritage. They are by no means the golden standard for accuracy but Levantines always score lots of Jewish so it's interesting for me to see lol. I just uploaded my data to MyHeritage and it says it will take a couple of days to finish. It wouldn't surprised me if they have an unlocking price at the end when it is ready.
TBH, I am surprised by my results. Some calculators have me as a 2 population model as 50% Georgian Jew + 50% Algerian Jew. I may had some recent Sephardic/Ashkenazi ancestry but I am not sure, as my mom always told us that we were Lebanese/Syrian.

Makes sense, as I score 2% South Asian in some calculators.
In Wikipedia, it says that L-M349 is principally found in Europe.[citation needed]. I am going to look into this Haplogroup because I was expecting either J1/J2, E1b1b, or other typical MENA like haplogroups.

I got classified as Egyptian so I don't think 5% made a difference.
To give you an update on MyHeritage, my results are in. The bad news is that I have pay $29 dollars to "unlock" my results.
I will probably pay for that and not FTDNA.

Mix I guess. My dad told me we were Rum/Melkite, and the Catholics in Egypt during the time my mom was growing up was Rum. However, I think it is more of a mix between Maronite/Melkitem

Yeah, my mom told that her grandparents moved because locust ate up the farmland at the time in Lebanon.

I'm guessing both are just interchangeable for Levantines. As in it detects you share ancestry with Jews in general (Be it Sephardic or Mizrahi) but one time it assigned it to the first and the other it assigned it to the latter without any particular reason, because you share ancestry with both groups. Similar to how Italian and Greek are interchangeable with MyHeritage.
Actually I can use my own results to demonstrate, I score 44% Sephardi despite having only 25% of my ancestry from North Africa in actuality.

My grandpa is full Syrian and my grandmother is 1/3 so I ended up with 14% Middle Eastern and 6% Turkey and the Caucasus results on ancestry.

No, we are all Maronite and Melkite. What my mother told me was that Alexanderia, where she grew up, was a multi ethnic society of Syrians, Armens, Greeks, etc.. but was all kicked out by the time Nasser took to power.
My mother's sister married a Muslim from Egypt. Her son was actually 15 years older than I was and came to America to visit. He stayed in my room and sometimes I would see him pray around 4 or 5 in the morning while I would be waking up.
You mean the guy that beat Israel with nobility and kicked out the Israelis? Nice non indigenous result. Oi vey.

Do you have Muslim ancestry (you know what I mean)?
Near Eastern Muslims ( Lebanese Syrian etc ) are more European than the Christians Lebanese Muslim and Syrian samples are placed next to Greek Cypriots and pre Mongolic Turkish from North Cyprus aka ''Levantine'' where as the Lebanese Christians especially the ones who are Maronite and have Assyrian origin are placed next to Jews.
