Feeling different then gentiles?

Is this a normal phenomenon, my whole life I felt out of place and a sense of differentness from many who I came across on a regular basis it was only until I found out about my heritage and learned about Judaism that I really started to wonder or question if that was one of the underlining reasons or best way to describe this difference...
