What would be most informative? Parent (mother or father?) or grandparent?

I'd rather test my dad since I'd like to know where he plots as he's from an under-tested group, not many Dalmatian Serbs who have tested autosomal, but I did ask both my parents while the dna test sales were on, only my dad agreed so I purchased a test for him. Awaiting the results.
