in a way though op is right cause cambodians, thais, burmese come out as southern chinese mixed with local lao haobinhan/negrito type population with some indic admix later on (represented by iranian and AASI pull).

there are around 25 million estimated chinese that migrated to south east asia that came from southern china.

most of us can tell them apart miles away or we can tell apart those who might have chinese ancestry.

You're misunderstanding the question. No one said Chinese and Thais are the same people. Xi looks like a pure, unadmixed person with no obvious features that can be traced to other populations, the first guy looks like an intermediary between Xi and a Papuan.

Anyway, no OP, it isn't that simple. SE Asians are Ami/Atayal/Igorot(Taiwanese natives) mixed with Papuan/Onge-like populations, Chinese have a lot of the more northern Mongoloid that peaks in Siberia while SE Asians don't have any(people from Burma might have some because of the Tibeto-Burman connection).

yes thais on average do look quite different from han chinese but those with chinese ancestry, which the proportion is actually close to almost half of thailand, they can be quite ambiguous looking. native thais are easier to tell apart though.

50% is way too much for thailand.. the Vietnamese DNA shows less than 10% of the population having Chinese ancestry.

if we are talking science. There is barely no evidence of Papuan/negritoes in south east Asian DNA..

thousands have taken DNA test at most you will 1-3% at the very most having Papuan/negritoes genes.
