I stumbled upon this youtube montage with Finnish war memorials and monuments half by accident. I liked it enough to start a thread for the topic, if you know any good ones, post pics. :)

don't know if this is the right place, but there's a a memorial to Finnish soldiers and Severin Tigerstedt who fought in Russian-Turkish war.

James Finlayson, a Scotsman, founded a cotton mill in Tampere in 1820. The weaving hall, where The Plevna Brewery Pub & Restaurant is located today, was built in 1877, and the name Plevna dates back to this period.

In the Russo-Turkish War (1877-78) there were men from the Finlayson cotton mills who fought alongside Russian troops, and since the custom of the day was to name each new Finlayson building after some significant current event, the weaving hall was named after a battle fought in the Balkan town of Plevna during this conflict. Therefore, it was more than appropriate for us to call our pub Plevna.

Plevna is also linked with another historic event: in 1882, the very first electric light bulbs in the Nordic countries brought light to the Finlayson weaving hall, only three years after Thomas Alva Edison’s invention.

Yeah, I know about it. There is an old Finnish military march (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gztGzNljqW4) about the Finns in Bulgaria.

... and the Finnish black metal band Horna has made a nice cover version of it, too ;)
