When you look at the single populations I would tend to agree with you but once you look at the mixed mode it becomes more obvious especially considering the timeframe which would’ve been the essential beginning of the country known as Spain today

Modern Andalusians are not really the ones from 500-1000 years ago they are heavily mixed with other Iberians.

Most Latinos "Spanish " ancestry is not really Spanish at least the ones from Mexico where many mexicans "Iberian " components are heavily composed with Jews and northern africans/middle eastern etc.

In the year 1000AD the majority of indigenous Iberians living on the Iberian Peninsula were of the muslim faith, those are the real Andalusians and they were branded as moriscos and got genocided by the Catholics, for some moriscos even converting to Catholicism wasn't enough so many of them fled to North Africa (north Morocco/Algeria and Tunisia).
