I search for pics of Khasis online and many of them look like half Indian half Chinese while others look like regular Indians with some East Asian admixture. Others also look predominantly Mongoloid

For example:

Do a lot of Khasis have recent South Asian ancestry?

There are 2 circles in the PCA first one is Khasi & related, second one is Munda & Santal. Obviously Khasi close to Sino Burmese groups.

So they are at least 10% Caucasoid. Some more Caucasoid could be hiding in that South Indian component as well. Were there historically settlers from other parts of South Asia in Meghalaya? Would they get their South Asian ancestry from mixing with Bengali or Bihari-like people?

I wonder how common/typical are those phenos in the OP among the Khasi.

They might be around 20-25% caucasoid since south indian is half caucasoid so add 15% to that 10% estimate.

yes very likely bengali. Nearby tripura and assam have been invaded with bengali migrants as far as i know and meghalaya is stuck between them.

I'm not sure about meghalaya/khasis specifically. I've seen northeast indians in Delhi when i went there recently this december and they looked east asian af lol. They almost looked the same as chinese, but with a shorter stature lol. they might be from nagaland, mizoram, arunachal or something. meghalaya, tripura are more south asian influenced and they clearly look mixed imo. most khasis seem to look like indid shifted burmese.

These are khasi pics i found online. they do mostly look equally south asian/southeast asian but some shift towards pure indid and pure east asian ish.
