I'm probably influenced by James bond (Golden Eye) where he played a Russian. I recently re-watched that movie and tought he don't look fully native Russian and must be part Azeri or something.
Had no idea he's German, would never guess.

i knew him of course- but i was never anthrotarding his look- looked like a dark German to me.
But yeah, he looks a bit Eastern (but not unusual for East German)- Dinaro-Pontid, but more the "Steppe Pontid" - Volgid/ Ladogan tendencies.
Pontid admix in some East German is not too uncommon.
