I just wanted to give some kudos, Lukasz has been the only one thus far to correctly differentiate my French heritage from English.

Would recommend to those of you who haven't done it yet. I'm impressed.

You need to get yourself a nice Gypsy wagon and start selling trinkets and telling fortunes.

Thats racist and deragotory towards romani ethnic group and hence myself for being romani.

You need to embrace your Romani culture my friend. At least you have a culture that's been long established. I come from the land of Big Macs and Hollywood.

You dont realise that Romani are like everyone else. They are not free spirits, travellers, thieves, etc. Romani work, etc. also only a small part of Romani travelled in wagons historically. I do live my culture how it was passed down to me by my parents and grandparents. No one of them travelled in a wagon.

I'm well aware of that. I was making fun of the caricature of that ideal. Europeans have a different sense of humor than Americans and it's much less sarcastic or self-deprecating.

Google Ole & Lena jokes. They're very common where I live.

Romani culture is very diverse. I have nothing to do with crystal balls and fortune tellers.

It is the same as saying "nigger you stole my bike". Ok it was a joke and I understand jokes, Im not really offended but it seemed you really believe that Im a fortune teller or thieve or pirate. It is usually the american perception of romani. They dont even know that romani are actual people they think they are like hobbits from a fairy tale. I just told you that. Now we get along again.

Yes...once again, most are aware of this. Well, except for maybe the Czechs. Here in the USA, "Gypsies" are mostly Irish Travelers. I'm not sure how they acquired that moniker

I see. You probably pulled the "ignorant american" thing calling me a fortune teller as if you dont know it. It is ok. Irish Travellers are europeans but historically joined forces with the Romani, nowadays many irish travellers identify as part of the Romani Nation.

It’s just a joke, I have heard some people think that Chileans are full blown indians that live with llamas or are just outright unaware of it’s existence. All you can do is take it lightly.

If it is just a joke it is ok. But it is a racist joke. But I take also racist jokes and jokes about myself or fat people (Im fat). Im not offended though.

No, I was making fun of the notion that the Romani were considered to be wagon driven, carnival barkers. Irish Travelers are actually of Irish origin I believe. Only slightly genetically different due to years of breeding within their culture. There's a large population of them on the South Carolina/Georgia border in the USA.

I think people mix Romas up with Travellers. It happens a lot. :)

Sometimes but not only. I dont think travellers read fortunes, it is roma historically (but only very few roma but it got a stereotype).
