well, "very dark" eyes are pretty uncommon for most Europeans. Pure black eyes are a negroid/mongoloid trait

I don't think so. They're pretty dark but I can still see a little bit of Brown in them.

Well, but has the European countries where the presence of dark eyes are considerable. In France and much of Europe, indeed, is very unusual

I loved the movie (Amelie, right?). I think she's equally Western Mediterranean and Alpine. She's not photogenic but in the movie she is very cute.

Yes, Amely. Honestly, at first i thought that she has mixed background, because her features strange even for France.

How do you define "dark"?
To me, "dark" is this: http://ll-media.essence.com/archive/black_woman_serious.jpg

If that is how you define dark, then yes- dark is pretty rare. However, here is a pic of my eye- http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n558/k151/S6300560.jpg

Some people would consider my eyes "dark" as well

Of course, most of French are not that dark-eyed and dark-haired, but to me she looks French, there is something very French about her.

Marseille is very mixed. Historically Marseille since Italian was partially back to the 19th century for example. You have the largest port in France. Anyway, if it's 100% French in Marseillais, He is rare

However, brown eyes are more common in southern, but light eyes and mixed eyes are still the majority in all regions of France

I know that there was a few Syrians in Lyon during the Roman Empire and probably elsewhere in Gaul but I don't think that they have left any significative trace in the general population.

She resembles Juliette Binoche except for the fact that Juliette's brown is a bit lighter than Audrey's, which is very dark. Both are common types in France as much as light-eyed people. France is a diverse place.

Not at all. Audrey Tautou is an almost perfect Alpinoid sample: round head, low-rooted convex nose, neotenic and downright childish features (which make her very cute indeed).

Tautou is an Occitan Surname.

Right.

There have been speculations that she might be Jewish due to her dark complexion and because of that rather strange second name, but this one is documented since centuries in the Southern (Occitan) part of Auvergne.

For what it's worth, Heraus notes that the Alpine type combined with Mediterranean input "is the average phenotype of southern France" and is quite prevailing in the mountainous districts of High Auvergne.

http://anthrofrance.blogspot.com/search/label/Languedoc%20%3A%20Cévennes-Gévaudan

Actually, real Mediterraneans become more frequent in the West, when approaching the Pyrenees, and in the East (combined with Dinarids or pseudo-Dinarids) towards the Alps.

This "Occitan Mediterranized Alpine" type cannot be ascribed to immigration, since its stronghold is a largely desertified area that never attracted immigrants but provided a lots of emigrants to surrounding provinces.

Thus yes, Audrey Tautou has something very French.

In Italy, typical alpine noses are called "profilo francese" (French profile).

Aplinoid Med with Gracile Cro Magnon influences looks to be infantilized for the most part.
