I guess that what makes her not typically Filipino is the Polynesian component, which is close but different.

The only thing about her that looks non-Filipino would be her high-rooted nose, which like you said, could very well be from her Hawaiian side. I don't understand the mulatta thing though, she doesn't look black!

Well, to my eyes a typical hot Filipino looks more like this:

That is, a Paleo-Asian base (which is already mixed) with probable Asian (South Sinid) admixture and maybe even a bit of European.

While Polynesians, close as they are (they both speak languages from the same phylum, after all), are more obviously mixed with Australasians, which is likely what gives them a more 'Negrid' appearance to some people.

Well I assume we've seen different Filipinos, because that's not exactly what my Filipina stereotype looks like :p Who is that girl though?

But one thing's for sure, Nicole S definitely looks like she's from somewhere in the Southern parts of the Pacific, be it SEA Asia or the Pacific Islands, definitely not African, New World black or anything like that. Her skintone is nothing out of the ordinary based on background.

That's why I added hot. :D Those I've seen who were more from common stock -here they usually work as housemaids- tend to be darker and with features more similar to those of South-East Asians without Chinese influence. As everywhere, social class seems to mark phenotype too.
