There are more of course, such as: H, O, K, I, N, G, U, P.
J women?
But H and U are the two most numerous in Europe, IIRC.

H and U both have similar origins. U is just a tad more Asiatic.

Mine is U8b, from Western Armenia, near Lake Van. A lot of Basques have U8a, on the other hand, Wikipedia says that U8b can be found in Italy and Jordan. Haplogroup K has been identified as a Subclad of U8b (Haplogroup U8b-K). Haplogroup U8b-K makes up a sizable fraction of the U8b People in Europe and West Asia, and it originated in Northeastern Italy.

U probably existed along haplogroup C and also existed independently among a lot of groups in the east. Kind of all over the place

My cousin, Judy Sanoian is 100% Armenian, and her MtDNA is H1. I didn't know that H2a1 is one of the typical haplogroups among Armenians.

Idk if it's super common now but it originated in that area and spread into Eurasia then Europe. Think it came over with G and J and again with R later on.

H stands for Hoe evident by how widespread the lineage is. So apparently H is more successful and that's all I need to say.
