I dont know about taxonomic category. But brown skin, black hair, dark brown eyes, "southasian" or "eastern" features.

I think there is a east west divide. There is barely any difference between gypsies in southern and eastern europe to eatch other. I saw romanian gypsies, bulgarian gypsies, they look like serbian gypsies. But I think as more west and north you go the gypsies start looking a bit different.
And there is also the imagined stereotype look since gypsies are in europe you could say "thats the stereotypical gypsy look"

I don't know if that's the case. Serbs often say that all gypsies in Serbia have visible South Asian traits. I know for certain this is not the case in Romania. Maybe a third of Romanian gypsies have South Asian traits. The rest look either West Asian, European or a combination of the two.
Look at these gypsies from the central parts of Romania - between the 2 horse handlers, one looks to be from the Caucasus, the other looks Balkan:

Yes gypsies in Serbia have visible southasian traits. They look like my mum and her family. And really dark skinned. They stick out like a sore thumb. I thought romanian gypsies also have visible southasian traits. But maybe I saw the 1/3 you say look southasian. Sometimes if it is not noticeable by phenotype you dont know you met a gypsy only if he appears culturally with certain clothes or proffession as such, but if he is dressed normal and not brown you probably dont know you met a gypsy. Just like I think I never met a jew but maybe I did met one just didnt know it.

Yea you also got groups that have no relation to actual Gypsies like the Pavee who claim descent from the Irish nobility who was usurped.

They're too mixed to have a most common phenotype. The major commonality is that most of them have visible Indian influence.

But don't they come from South Asia? Só i guess, most Will have a common southasian look to them

Do they all come from South Asia? Definitely not.
Their picked up other migrant populations along their migration route.

They look like mix between north Indians and south Europeans. Beautiful people, my friends! Meds, Alpinids, Dinarids on one side, Gracile Indids, North Indids, Brachids on other side.

She looks full blown Indian. Then again, her eyes are kohl-lined to the max, hard to tell. Latina would need some Amerindian in the eye, and they have bigger faces in general.
But i agree, there's some overlap. When i go to Miami or the East Coast, Latinos talk in Spanish to me, and are shocked when i can't. I look very North Indid with no trace of Mongoloid/Amerindian at all, similar to the girl above, and i have standard brown Indian skin. It surprises me because i can easily tell Latinos and Indians apart, then again i have a good eye for faces.
