I have a doubt, "Spagnol" means the same as "Spagnolo"?

Better fit in Iberia & France IMO despite being closer to Balkans geographically (I think?)

Yes, it does. Many surnames in Veneto and Friuli end in -n, -l, -r and -t. Spagnolo (pan-Italian) --> Spagnol (Venetian and Friulian), Bottarelli (common in Lombardy and Parma, Emilia) --> Bottarel (strictly Venetian), Ferracini (common in Emilia and Rovigo area) --> Ferracin (strictly Venetian) etc.

In group, these people don't look Iberian, they are at an intemediate point between France and Balkans IMO.

Northwest Balkans (Slovenia/Croatia) and France are the best fits. Iberia, Southern Balkans (Greece/Albania) not very good fits.

The kid who bullied me in HS was named Bottarel. I had a triggering moment reading the names.

i press F to pay respects.
on another note i wouldn't want to be a female/girl named Bottarel, jokes would be a non stop stream (for english speakers bottarella in italian is a "quickie")

I thought NE Italians are lighter than Iberians.
