That makes little sense. I am not a pro at IBD, but I thought it stood for identity by descent and was a better indication of shared ancestry? The results seem outlandish(literally). Also, no Albania as a IBD match seems weird(unless not included).

Albania isnt included but I dont expect it to score high for Crete. You need to understand that Greeks and albanians had negligible genetic influence in the balkan modern genepool compared to slavs.

When was the last time the Slavs had a big genetic impact on Crete and Siciliy? As far as I am aware, Sicily had heavy Greek and some Albanian admixture. Crete I don't see Slavs invading, or settling even. It could be via proxy by the mainland. I just don't see how it would be highest IBD with Slavic nations considering not only lack of settlements but also far less R1a/I2-Din in these places. Unless acquired via Slavic wives instead of assimilated males.

The slav arrives when you don't expect him and settles in the most unprobable remote places. You have to remember that slavs are a group with high migration rates towards the south even today. They will obviously not admit that, but the truth is they can't stand the cold.
