Ethnogene, who has tried it?

Any member here who tried the ethnogene ancestry analyze? It costs around 30 dollars and it takes 2 weeks before you get results, I've submitted my raw DNA and I'm currently waiting for the results.

I'm Ashkenazi and got 0% Ashkenazi. It's accurate for others though. I'm the first instance that I know of. Could be that the breakdown they gave me of my ancestry is really accurate going back 4k years.

I'm of the opinion that regionally they are not terribly inaccurate for most people. The breakdowns are kind of absurd though. Lots of low %'s, and its got many people on another anthro forum trying to justify a 1-2% ethnicity result.

I have not been able to figure out how they arrive at their results, and can only throw around my assumptions. On theior site they say what sample sets they use, and it looks like the same sets GedMatch has, (1000 Genomes Proj, etc..)I think they likely combined some sort of Gedmatch calc and/or an Nmonte run, and charge $30 for that.

I did get this and like all these secondary sites that you have to upload your dna to it is just a calculator using nMonte or something similar.

i have heard on the other forum that they are very bad at responding to e-mails. and i also heard that they do accept transfers again but some people had to wait very long again while others got them fast back. i really dont know what to think of it my results where extremely accurate and for others too so its a bit scary

because no other company or calculator has put my Hungarian side and Dutch side together. Hard to believe for me. and the fact that they never respond does not help with it.

Lol I'm not too sure, the results are good but definitely not perfect. I thought the MENA and South Asian percentages were odd, although some other sites including 23andme also gave me a tiny bit of MENA.

They don't accept new orders anymore. After clicking "Order now" I saw this. Both upload and payment are not possible. I heard that in last year the same thing started about 15 August and lasted till end of last July.

On Anthrogenica many users started Paypal disputes and no one responded from Ethnogene... It seems person who operated it isn't in service for some reason.

As good as they are for placing of ethnic backgrounds and so forth, they are ridiculously poor in customer service and reliability. There is a newcomer on the block; ADNTRO However they have a lot of work to do with trying to narrow down regional references.
