He is of Portuguese and Pennsylvania Dutch ancestry (Pennsylvania Dutch people are actually German though not Dutch, is this right?).. his real last name is Weiss, not Thomas.

I would say he does not immediately strike me as Portuguese.

In the second picture he could pass as Scandinavian, first picture I'm not sure...
