I am interested in seeing other west, central, and south Asian results from ancestry.com to compare with my results below (Iraqi Kurd). Their test takes about 10 minutes and is $10.

I thought their test would be useless based on what some others wrote, but It wasn’t that bad. My only complaint is I think some of the results seem to be based on very old shared ancestry such neolithic anatolian farmer for my results and other kurds and west Asians. For example my Italian or Iberian percentage is I think shared neolithic ancestry.

My results - Iraqi Kurd

Actually there could be another explanation for the 5% italian. There was a Roman presence for a long time in the kurdistan area over the past 2000 years

I get 100% South asian. That was expected but the regional breakdown for me is interesting. I'm from south india and I get 60% Indian, 28% Srilankan, and 13% Pakistani. Not bad actually.

I see from their reference set that they use less S. Asian populations than W.Asian and European populations so they ate more distinct and it’s less likely for them to make mistakes. For W. asians and Europeans they are using a bunch of small countries next to each other which are hard to tell apart so they have more mistake chances. Like for me that had lebanon, syria, jordan, saudi arabia. They are hard to tell apart. That’s why lebanese could actually be syrian or jordanian or a mix of something. It’s very unlikely that ihave specifically lebanese ancestry. Same problem with the other European small countries next To each other

You say your ancestry is e. Iran and n. India. So what is the ethnicity of your 4 grandparents?

Well I don’t find my results that different from the local Anatolian or Balkan. The only thing making me different from West Anatolian or Cretan Greek is the 1/3 South Asian I have which is understandable. Kurds also score about 5-10% SA :)

Yeah it depends how S. Asian is defined, so how much S. Asian and C. Asian and mongoloid do you score on mdlp k23?

Those are my MDLP k23. Keep in mind that S Indian is exaggerated on there as even Causasian people like Georgians score high on there.

But according to Gedmatch spreadsheet Georgians and Armenians only score 0.45% S. Indian!

I’m trying to figure out the sequencing.com. We score about same Caucasian, but I score almost 3 times more SC Asian than you and more Mongloid but you score more C. Asian than me on Sequencing.com??

Maybe if more W. Asians post here I can see a pattern
