He might be 25% Albanian at most so doesn't mean much

The majority would pass quite well in Crete, but they'd be a bit lighter than the average. There are actually some very remote villages in Crete where the inhabitants are somewhat lighter and resemble Albanians quite a lot. I guess those people are the most preserved folk and the majority of their ancestry dates from the neolithic.
