The man who was found dead on a roadside in Nijmegen on Saturday is Albanian politician Festim Lato, reports the Albanian newspaper Gazeta Telegraf. It was about a political murder.

Lato was self-proclaimed president of Chameria, an unrecognized region on the border of Albania and Greece.
Angelo Aliu, the self-proclaimed Prime Minister of the Republic of Chameria, reacted in shock to the death of Lato on Facebook. He calls the death of his political colleague "a politically motivated murder of Chameria."
The police reported earlier to assume a crime. Nothing has been said about the identity of the victim to date.
According to Omroep Gelderland , Lato has been living in a remote house in Afferden in the past few years. He is said to have had debts with individuals and companies that ran into millions of euros. In April he was declared personally bankrupt by the court in Zutphen.
Diplomat Jeroen Zandberg informs the broadcaster that Lato "did business with entrepreneurs who do not pay VAT." He would therefore have concluded a number of shadowy agreements. "He brought a lot of cash across the border with Albania."
I bet that his former bodyguards killed him after he failed to pay them, since he got bankrupt!
