I think it's noise, you got some Arabian on K36 which probably came with your Near Eastern admixture but not anything that indicates sub-Saharan. I regard less than 1% as noise.

I see your point. Gedrosia k12 gives 90% African on the sample you provided and neanderthal dna is almost absent in African population.
I ll tell you why i said that gedrosia is trash in my case: it gives me ridiculous results, both in the components and in the oracles. No surprise that k3 and k6 is very vague calculators in determining actual ancestry, but i doubt they were build for that. But k12 is also very inaccurate. My SSA in gedrosia k12 is 2%, while dodecad, eurogenes gives me 0 with something. It overexaggerates SSA almost for everyone, OP is not an exception. Thats why i wrote him to ignore gedrosia resukts. Look at my k12 oracle and oracle 4 (i am 50 russian, 25 tatar, 25 uzbeki)

Yeah but Eurogenes makes the Altai Neanderthal even worse ; 95% African. At least the Gedrosia K3 gives it some European and Asian but anyways the reason you got Russian + Kurd C as 1st in oracles is because that calculator doesn't have Tatars and many other populations. Honestly if it was me I wouldn't even make oracles for it since there isn't enough population averages.

But that can easily be fixed by adding more pop averages to the spreadsheet. The 2% African I am guessing is because he didn't use enough SW Asian references in that one

Just chiming in but personally i don't think Gedrosia are trash, they are just not for Euro in general or have a specific purpose not well understood by everybody. However Neanderthal showing African might be normal, they are very, very old, there s not much else to compare them to, and because they have archaic dna, Africans might be the closest proxy (in the same way when you put chimps in human calculators, that's silly, but they are going to come out as Africans) and Euro don't have enough Neanderthal for it to be significant common DNA.

Anyway, unlikely real SSA, just high near east, relatively.

I think Dilawer solved the mystery why those Gedmatch calculators show it as 90% plus African.

It is expected that a calculator output show that Neanderthal is equally related to Eurasians and Africans, with a slight shift towards Eurasians, due to its limited admixture with Eurasians around 50,000 years ago, long after its split from the ancestral Neanderthal-Human lineage. However, we see this not to be the case.


Figure 1 shows that except for the SAPDA program, the ADMIXTURE program based various calculator projects erroneously indicate that the Neanderthal sample is around 90% African.


By contrast, SAPDA indicates greater shared drift between Eurasians and the Altai Neanderthal sample vs Altai Neanderthal and Africans, specifically, Siberians, American Indians, and East Asian Eurasians. This of course is a more expected result than the results using ADMIXTURE software, which tend to show the Altai Neanderthal sample as approximately 90% African.



So what he is saying is that the raw DNA data from the companies such as 23andMe and Ancestry has many old common alleles ancestral to both Africans and Neandethal and those alleles are not filtered out by those companies. So what he did is he figured out a way to find out which alleles they are and removed them before running the data in his new SAPDA software which he invented. That is why the SAPDA K5 output in the above graph shows Altai Neanderthal shifted to Eurasians instead of Africans which it should be unlike the Gedmatch calculators. He also posted Ust Ishim and some modern populations using his new software in the article.

Bro I just checked out the population averages spreadsheet on Gedmatch and the SSA looks pretty reasonable. Here check it out. How many SNPs do you have when you run the calculator. Maybe you have too few SNPs because of your raw data.

I usually use my 23andme converted v3 data because I get the most snp's with that one. But K3 gives me over 10% SSA and almost 7% on Ancient Eurasian K6. No way I have that much black in me.... sheeeeit :(

your real ssa is around 4%, typical for the region and not to be concerned of. Yeah christian levantines lack ssa in comparison to muslims. Muslim levantines had much more mixing with the south arabian peninsula invaders to the Levant, so they got it from there. I doubt ancient levantines had ssa
