I2 dinaric among Albanians

From what I’ve seen Ghegs din south. Tosks (where I2 is higher at around 10-15% I believe) mainly din N.

That makes sense. Bulgarians and Greeks close to Tosks are mostly Din N, and Serbs and Montenegrins close to Ghegs mostly Din S.

Yeah in Tosks it’s likely from assimilated Aromanians (who are between 20-40% I2a depending on region) and from Bulgarians. In Ghegs from Monte-Serb mixing though there’s probs some more early medieval clusters also.

On my maternal side the Y haplogroup is I2-Z17855 or DinC and they're from one of the villages south of Korca. I'm not sure how it got there but I'm sure it's been there for a while (they're not Aromanians or any kind of minority). I'm pretty sure there's a larger variety of haplogroups in Albania (especially the south) then just E1b, J2 and R1b that people usually think of. Looking at my 23andme matches and comparing the haplogroups and ancestry I have a lot of people >95% greek/balkans (specifically highly likely in Albania and Greece) with "unusual haplogroups".

Thank you for answer! DinC most common in Romania and along the black sea coast. I see it is pretty frequent among Albanians.
