My families surname was changed from 'ov' ending to 'ic', and that would go with the majority of Macedonians. That was the result of the Serbian occupation of Vardar Macedonia. Today many Macedonians have surnames ending in 'ski'. aherne is right, The communists added this 'ski' ending to separate us from Bulgarians.

yes...but ovski names are legacy of Bulgarian occupation and mostly communists, all Slavs use -ski, only for last names that are based on place of origin like Babun - ski, not on last names that are based on personal names..... KPJ changed all -ic in Macedonia to -ski, it doesn`t mean anything...I know lot of casses

How do you know?

Like there are surnames ending on -ov that were changed, there were also surnames ending on -ic changed, especially during Bulgarian occupations and communist era. So we can't possibly know.

Also, it should be noted that Serbian Surnames ending on -ski occur as far as Bosnian Krajina.

Perhaps, but about 50% of current Macedonian surnames end in OV/EV so let's not get carried away here.
