Here's the breakdown of tribal groups in india. All states (except for Punjab and Haryana) have federally recognized tribal groups. For punjab and haryana, I used a group called chamar which is the most common low caste dalit group (not tribal) in that region since they have no tribals.

Tribal populations used
Kashmir/Himachal Pradesh = Gujjar
Uttarakhand = Tharu
UttarPradesh = Kol
Rajasthan = Meena, Bhil
Gujarat = Bhil
Madhya Pradesh = Bhil, Mawasi, Sahariya
Bihar/West Bengal = Santhal, Ho
Jharkhand = Asur, Santhal
Chattisgarh = Bhunjia, Kharia, Dhurwa, Gond
Orissa = Savara, Gadaba, Bonda, Juang
Maharashtra = Nihali
AP/Telangana = Chenchus
Karnataka = Hakkipikki
Kerala = Paniya, Pulliyar
TamilNadu = Irula
Sikkim = Bhutia
Arunachal Pradesh = Nysha
Nagaland = Naga
Meghalaya = Khasi
Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura = Burmese
Assam = Khasi + Burmese average

"Real" as opposed to what? The foreign Indians that lived there for 3000+ years?

The gap in West Eurasian in Maharashtra,Chattisgarh and Orissa is interesting.

maharashtra is slightly western shifted anyways compared to the other two but the major difference between chattisgarh and orissa is the group called gond. The gond samples from harappa are from chattisgarh. Gonds have decent baloch amount so thats why its pulling chattisgarh's average a bit west, but besides that those two states are fairly similar in tribal groups.

Why does Maharashtra have less West Eurasian than northern Dravidian states? Maybe the tribal groups in this region are a smaller % of the population thus include less Western shifted groups:

south indian is roughly similar between those two. main difference is in the west eurasian and east eurasian between MH and Andhra/karnataka. MH is more central indian influenced, hence they have more eastern shift compared to surrounding gujarati and northern dravidian tribals but more western shifted than orissa/chattisgarh

Here are the distribution of tribes and low castes in india. Punjab has the highest percentage of dalits/low cstes (chamars, etc) and Chattisgarh has the highest percentage of tribes (outside the northeast).

These are tribes, NOT LOW CASTES/DALITS. Gujjars are one of the major recognized tribes in Kashmir and Himachal. I'm not trying to connect gujjars to south indians. I'm just posting results of major tribal groups in each state. And mind your language.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gurjar

As of 2001, the Gurjars and the Bakarwals in Jammu and Kashmir were classified as Scheduled Tribes.[61] According to the 2001 Census of India, Gurjar is the most populous scheduled tribe in J&K, having a population of 763,806. Around 99.3 per cent population of Gurjar and Bakarwal in J&K follow Islam.

As of 2001, the Gurjars in parts of Himachal Pradesh were classified as a Scheduled Tribe

Yeah I'll make one, but the differences between higher castes (brahmins) arent that pronounced tbh. They're not as interesting and diverse as the low caste results.

Why don't you guys use Devanagari for writing in Hindi? Even I can easily add it to the layouts on my smartphone. It's one of the most beautiful scipts in my opinion :)

Tribals are the groups outside the caste system. The true indigenous populations of South Asia before Aryans and Dravidians.

It might not be as interesting to compare regions but comparing the Brahmin values with those of other groups within the same region would definitively make the map worth making.

Also after making those 3 maps and possibly one for Dalits, is there any major caste or population group that would be missing?

He was replying to a Pakistani and they don't use Devanagari. However, many Indians in general don't write in Devanagari cause most of them don't use Devanagari keyboards and they'd have to go through the effort of searching for a Devanagari keyboard online, typing in Devanagari over there (which itself would take some effort since they're not familiar with the placings of letters on Devanagari keyboards), and then copy-paste it over here. Just not always worth the effort. I guess mobile users would use Devanagari more often compared to those on the PC.

God I hope they make more Devanagari keyboards, Latin killed too many alphabets or script traditions already.

Don't worry, its not remotely in danger of dying. But it would be nice if they made more keyboards with both Latin and Devanagari letters. They already exist, not sure why they're not popular yet.
