I wonder why N is relatively common. I thought in Europe it was almost absent except for Northeastern Europe. It exists in Turkey though.

Here is interesting high R1b for Serbian standards. "Western" branches are stronger than "eastarn."

What is it mainly, u106?

It's a clade only found in western balkans/former yugoslavia at a substantial level iirc. I think its highest frequency is even in Herzegovina and Dalmatia.

It's small sample size so will probably go down with higher numbers; some u106 could come from Hungarians or Germans in Bačka who mixed with Serbs over the years since that subclade is more or less non existent in Serbs usually.

Yea, sample is too small. Vojvodinian Serbs are not so interested for genetic, unlike Dinaric ones.
Germans lived 250 years in Bačka. Hungarians were 22% in Serbian part of Bačka in 2002.

People included in this statistic are those whose ancestors lived in Bačka at least since 19th century or before. Tested colonists after WW2 are not counted, they are counted in statistic for Serbs from regions from were their ancestors arrived.
Ancestors of these N-P189.2 Bačka Serbs probably came with Čarnojević in 1690 or Arsenije Jovanović Šakabenta in 1737.
N-P189.2 is from Banjani and Piva. Further origin is still unknown.

Probably stems from one male as opposed to a tribe or group and grew from there.
