Definitely, I would have immediately thought her to be a mestizo were I to encounter her.

She doesn't look european at all, she has a pseudo-Mestiza look

Could her mother pass as Amerindian?
She's Filipina with some Chinese and Spanish ancestry (although I doubt the Spanish is significant at all).

She seems to have a similar genetic composition as Enrique Inglesias and it seems like they share a similarity in that regard but it is obvious she has Paleo Mongoloid influences when you mention it.

Where would you place her mother if you didn't know?

I don't think her look is very Chinese, Japanese, or Korean but she's unmistakably Asian to me and not Amerindian.

Where would you place her mother if you didn't know?

Central American, mainly because she looks mongoloid but not east asian, and most of the mongoloid types around here are central Americans.

I really didn't know she had asian ancestry, and don't really see it..

So she does look Amerindian to you then. I would mistake her for Indonesian, Malaysian, or Cambodian before Mayan but for some reason SE Asians and Central Americans have some weird overlap despite Amerindians having come from Siberia.

I wouldn't think her is too dissimilar to some Mediterraneans. It might depend upon where one encountered her.

Her mother looks very Filipino.

Sikeliot

She actually has no significant Mediterranean ancestry. Her dad is Irish and Native American, and her mom Filipina.

I agree with Hamettan. If I saw her in Denmark, I would obviously get quite suspicious. However if I saw her in Crete I would let it slide

What's peculiar to me is simply how she could look Mediterranean when she's essentially NW European, Amerindian, and SE Asian.

Much as we know she is.

Prehaps GeistFaust might provide an interesting supposition.

It is a mystery as there has been quite a lot of mixing and remixing through time.

for some reason SE Asians and Central Americans have some weird overlap despite Amerindians having come from Siberia.

They came from further south before going up into Siberia, also there were different waves of migrations. SE Asians and some Central Americans & southwest USA indians may well have had common ancestors in central Asia at some point in time.

I read that her father is irish with a little native american and her mother is chinese filipino and spaniard. Filipino ancestry gets diluted pretty easily to a Mestizo look, and her mom has some degree of spaniard already..

Her mom's Spanish ancestry can't be too significant, looking at her at least. But Vanessa does have a mestiza look I agree.

I assumed she was Mexican or Central American before I read this thread. Yes, the Mongolid is obvious.

She does have that very sexy pseudo-Mestiza look. If you're thorough you can see hints of her Filipina ancestry emanating around her cheekbones.

What a way to stereotype Americans? I think girls like Miley Cyrus is a better example to use to represent your average 'ol American girl.

What a way to stereotype Americans? What other way do you expect there can be for people who don't live in America, but live in a country that has next to no Americans living or holidaying in it? What the media presents of Americans is what will dicatate the impressions internationally receivd by the general public. If you don't like it, take it up with those who make the big decisions in regards to American popular media.

As it happens, I have family who live in Canada and I've travelled throughout the US and Canada often enough... yet I still think this "tri-racial mongrel type" is significantly common in these countries (US and Canada) - although much more so in densely urbanised areas. Significantly common enough to be generally associated with America.

I used to associate triracial type of looks with Latin America but they are becoming more and more common here, as well.

Yeah, I have noticed this too, and then I saw a news article saying advertisers in particular were going for this look on the premise that people of any race would be able to identify to some degree with the 'racially ambiguous' model. Maybe a light skinned Hispanic, maybe someone who is part Asian or Arabic, maybe someone who is 1/8 black, maybe someone with southern European ancestry (ie, part Arabic or Black)
