These are brahmin averages from different regions in India based on HarappaWorld samples. Brahmins are the upper caste groups according to the hindu hierarchy system. I couldn't find any brahmin samples for east-central indian states (Chattisgarh and Jharkhand). Northeast India doesnt really have a brahmin/upper caste culture since they usually are majority buddhist/christian, except for assam and manipur, but i couldnt find any brahmin samples from those regions. So I left two central Indian states and northeast India out of this.
Pops used
Jammu and Kashmir = Kashmiri Pandit. Pandit means brahmin.
Himachal Pradesh = Kenji (himachal brahmin) user from AS and his family. I used him in middle caste as well previously.
rest are just brahmin samples/averages on harappa spreadsheets according to each state.

Oh nice! Thanks for posting this.
Brahmins in the North-West are not more West Eurasian than Middle Caste Indians? That's surprising. This makes Jatts from the region even more special.
Though what's also really surprising is how homogeneous they appear to be throughout all India, you hinted at that but it's more than I imagined.

yes jatts are the most western shifted in india. Punjabi brahmins are actually slightly more ASI shifted than them. In kashmir, punjab, haryana, himachal, and uttarakhand to an extent, there arent huge differences between upper and middle castes. In rest of india however there are noticeable differences between upper, middle, and lower.

I sent a PM. The averages on the map above are directly from harappa spreadsheet though.

Is there any research that includes all the other castes aswell? Curious to see what the average is like and how much the groups would differ from one another. I wanna compare and contrast these Brahmins to the Dalits.

Thanks for the links, I haven't yet seen these. Interesting.
I believe Nepali Brahmins have more European than that. Up to 15%. On Anthrogenica there are a couple of Nepali guys, poi is one of them.

I'm not sure actually. you should ask someone on AG. they're more knowledgeable regarding that stuff.

By Mong you mean the kind you get from Turko-Mongolic people?

HarappaWorld was designed primarily for South Asians. Using Eurogenes for Indians is no good.

its connected to Iran_N but there is no direct correlation. There's probably like a 80-90% correlation. Iran_N roughly correlates to Baloch, S_Indian roughly to AASI, NE-Euro roughly to EHG, Med to Barcin/ANF, SW Asian to Levant_N, Caucasian to CHG, etc.

Baloch also correlates to CHG, particularly if there's also NE Euro to go along with it. For example, NW Europeans score 10% or so Baloch, but that Baloch is more like CHG from Yamnaya rather than Iran_N. Caucasian was also found in Barcin sample, so it could represent CHG, Iran_N, or Barcin. IIRC Barcin samples I ran scored 30-40% Caucasian.
